Great Day To Be A Tennessee VOL. It's exciting to be back on the gridiron coaching the game we love! #BEACHAMPION #vfl #team117

Does anyone know if the coaches would be allowed to work with the team like this if they weren't doing these Volympics? I may be wrong but I didn't think the coaches could be involved until spring practice. Is this Volympics thing also a clever way to run some drills while the players are "competing?"

That's exactly what I was just thinking. They may be circumventing the system. Even if the NCAA comes in next year and declares this unfair, at least their first year here they got to get to know/start teaching early.

Pretty smart.

Is there a clear definition on "limited"? Is that why they will have the whole playbook in by spring practice starts?

A current coach on staff told me a football cannot be used in those 2hrs. I assume the playbook will only be revealed in the meeting settings

I think the NCAA is really off on this - many of these kids are helped by active engagement in football - it keeps them more motivated in school and more likely to graduate and stick with it imo

in fact all kids are helped by being more active and part of something while in college

i wish they would let them have more time with the coaches in the offseason - for many of these young men the position coach is the best role model they have in their life

The fanbase would melt down, but a super dark grey, with a lighter gray for numbers and a charcoal helmet, with only the power T in orange would be boss.
That's kinda what I meant. Orange should be in every uniform ever worn at Tennessee IMO. I know not all sports follow that though..

Gotcha, thanks. Wouldn't be suprised if the players learn more in two hours with the new staff than they did in three years under DD lol. Seriously though I think we'll see a more fundamentally sound football team. CBJ stressed the importance of having great teachers of the game.

good to see a former Vol Great was able to call ahead, pass a background check, and clear security just to visit his Alma Mater.
