@TennesseeBeat: Tennessee cops allegedly pull over woman because they thought Buckeye decal on car was marijuana leaf. #landofthefree Buckeye leaf mistaken by Tennessee police | The Columbus Dispatch

Looks like West Tennesseans still haven't forgiven CUM for landing Vonn Bell. Hilarious.

This is actually quite interesting, considering my line of work. I am an attorney in Memphis. This stop appears to have been performed by the West TN Drug Task Force. They are notoroius for stops east of the city and as you come in from Arkansas. They are looking for a specific profile, especially Texas plates. I guarantee you these people had Texas plates and appear to be Italian, which would most likely mean they have dark skin and hair. Straight up profiling.

In Clowney's case, age, per se, is not a factor here. If memory serves me correctly, the NFL mandates that players are not eligible for the draft until they are three years removed from their senior class in high school. So, a freshman entering school in fall 2013 would not be eligible for the draft until 2016, i.e. after three college football seasons (2013-14-15).

Yep. Not to mention the sticker doesn't give them grounds to stop the car, anyway, absent some other reasonable suspicion.

This is correct.

Clowney could still bail and be the first pick.

Granted I'm not sure if he needs to be a certain age vs class credentials.

But I'm sure he would find a way out if he wanted to.

Technically, he could just drop out of school/quit the team and spend the next year working out.

He'd still be the #1 pick in the 2014 draft.

Would be the smartest thing for him to do IMO. Go work with Carl Lawson's trainer for a year, get bigger and faster, and dominate the NFL in 2014.

I wish he would, would force some spotlight on the NCAA exploiting of teenagers.

Tiny vs Clowney is going to be an epic matchup of first round picks. No doubt the media will hype it all week. I hope both players stay healthy.

jc. will my grateful dead sticker get me pulled?

sorry man, living in Asheville sarcasm meter all out of sorts.

Those drug cops outside of Memphis will pull over ANYONE and give any reason. My coworker got pulled for "driving suspiciously." Once they determined she wasn't drug running, they chatted and he told her the real reason was because her windows weren't tinted (rental cars never have tinted window) ans drug runners often use rental cars.

Don't forget that Tiny owned JC with a bummed knee. I believe I remember DD saying they didn't know if he would play.

Change of subject since it has drifted into Law Review. What do folks think about LSU taking Cam Cameron as OC? Ten years experience an an OC with San Diego (Brees) and Baltimore (Flacco) before getting canned mid-season this past year. Was on the staff at Michigan with Miles a couple of decades back. Miles moved the former OC back to coaching their O-line.

Did they just fix their primary problem? They lost nobody on the staff. Kragthorpe took a desk job in the AD. So their recruiting should continue with maybe a bump with Cameron's experience. I think they just gave Saban and the rest of the SEC a major headache.

I don't get all the clowney talk - in situations like this the school should just foot the bill for the insurance policy that would protect his draft stock and then he can go out and enjoy the next 1-2 years of college football w/o thinking about it

college football is fun and he won't have the camaraderie he has at USCjr ever in the NFL - just let him enjoy and let him get insurance to mitigate his financial risk

If Les Miles gives Cam 100% unfettered control of the LSU offense, LSU, with all of it's talent, will be a force to reckon with. Their archaic offense has held them back in recent years.
