I can meet you anywhere you want on football Saturdays if you think I'm anonymous.

Sorry, I don't suffer fools lightly. You're one of many on here especially after losses.

Again, Bruce Pearl is never coming back. To even think that just shows how ignorant and clueless you really are.

I never said Bruce is coming back. You assumed it. I would think a "fool" might assume. Wait a minute, that can't be right. You're very smart, and you don't suffer fools. Assuming something would make one a fool, so you would be a fool, therefore you wouldn't be able to suffer yourself. Well, that can't be right.

Seriously, junior, lighten up. I know you're probably fresh out of college and think you're hot stuff because you think you are more educated than many from your community, but you are just a little kitten with sharp claws to the message board world.

Roll the dice with Pearl again , or keep the sure thing and keep losing with Martin? I know which way I'm leaning.

I've posted this link before, so I'll post it again.

In the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), a show-cause penalty is an order saying that for a set period of time, any NCAA penalties imposed on a coach involved in major rules violations at a university's athletic program will remain in force if he is hired by any other NCAA member institution. Both the school and coach are required to send letters to the NCAA agreeing to abide by any restrictions imposed, and report back to the NCAA every 6 months until the end of employment or the show-cause, whichever comes first. If the school wishes to avoid the NCAA restrictions imposed on that individual, it must appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions and "show cause" as to why it should not be penalized for hiring him.

Show-cause penalty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is essentially a blackballing of a coach. No NCAA institution will touch a coach with a show cause. When the show cause is over, he/she can find work, but it's usually at a lower rank. Only one Div I basketball coach has gotten a job after a show cause and that was Todd Bozeman. He is now at Morgan St.
The very next sentence from your link: "Contrary to popular belief, an NCAA member school is allowed to hire a coach with a show-cause order outstanding. In practice, however, the show-cause restrictions make it prohibitively difficult for a coach with a show-cause order to get another collegiate job. As mentioned above, any school that hires a coach with a show-cause order in effect can be penalized merely for doing so."

Everyone keeps saying "can't" when that's a flat out lie. Difficult? Yes. Unlikely? Yes. But not impossible.

Who are you referring to, Brian Williams not being allowed to play? Duke Crews, Ramar Smith being kicked off the team? Sampson letting them all play regardless. You'll just try and find any excuse to hate Bruce. I'm not calling Bruce a god, just find it funny that anyone could think Sampson wasn't as bad as Bruce. I guess let's just move on and enjoy this Cuonzo fiasco, because you're right, Bruce is never coming back, the greatest coach Tennessee basketball has ever had, is never coming back.

There's a whole lot of players on those Pearl teams that had drug/gun issues. You obviously aren't aware of pearl covering up the Brian Williams drug issue with an injury are you?

I'm not looking for an excuse to hate Bruce, because I don't hate him...I'm stating facts. You pointing to drug issues as to why Sampson is a worse person than Bruce is the epitome or irony.

And I never said Sampson was a better person, I put them in the same ballpark with what they've done. When you add in pearls past incidents at Iowa and fiasco here, those 2 are most definitely in the same ballpark.

Then why even entertain the idea of Pearl coming back? Or do you just like to waste your time? Obviously.

And I bet I have ties older than you kid. You're a joke.

Bruce is not going to coach here again.

/thread

He's paid his dues bro. It was only a bbq.

Who cares that he was already blackballed and on a tight leash before? Bring him back again after a show cause, which nobody ever comes back from.

I'm a joke? I thought the older generation was characterized by respect. I guess you missed the boat. See, tough guy, the difference between me and you is that I have had a life that allows me to not get all huffy on the internet. I'm smart enough to know what's important in life. Your attitude tells me that you are quite immature (hence my guess at your age). So, no matter your age, maybe one day you'll learn that a wise man knows that he knows nothing.

You can try, but no one has for a reason. Any institution that tries that would have a NCAA investigator on their campus all the time. That's why no one has tried it.

It's pretty simple to me now. I don't want a phony like BP being the representative of the University of Tennesse's men's basketball program ever again.

Respect is earned not given out freely by most people. When you come in here acting like Pearl did nothing then expect to be called out for it. Was his initial transgression small potatoes? Yes. However, had he done that many times before in the past? Yes. He was a serial violator of that rule. He made it worse by lying and covering it up. So, he got a three year show cause. Look at the list that he is on. That's not a list you want to be on.

And who is getting huffy? You seem defensive because you've been called out because of your foolishness. If you're going to make some stupid claim then expect to have facts to back it up. I thought I was dealing with a teenager with your spelling and prose.

Pearl isn't coming back. Get over it.

Lol. My spelling?? Because I spelled dysfunction with an "i" instead of a "y"? By the way, I respect everyone until given a reason not to. You claim I have

By the way, you should have put a comma after "earned", "nothing" and "claim". Either slap your English teacher or accept that you are a hypocrite. I'm done. You're quite impossible. Lol.

Edit: Also, you are calling me out for a thought that you find to be foolish. That doesn't mean it is foolish. Foolish is a word that describes an opinion. You can't represent your idea of foolish as an absolute truth. Not everyone on this board agrees with you.

If you're going to try and call someone out, at least use the proper term and spelling. It's quite simple.

And no, that sentence was fine. You are comma happy.

Continue to try and educate us on why Pearl's little lies were really no big deal though. Some of us need a good laugh at times.

Ok then. Keep Martin and keep on sucking, or hire a known name that can evaluate talent .

He'll get one more year. If he doesn't get to the NCAA tourney next year, he'll be gone. Why is that so hard to understand? You might as well accept that he will be here for at least another year.

Actually, a comma signifies a pause. Without a pause, your sentences in question run together. An educated man such as yourself should understand such a simple concept.

You mean Miss Headband? Oh wait, I made a basket and some guy touched my face..let me fix it so it looks neat and cute. Stokes plays like a little girl. Hes soft...rather uuughh it in then go up hard like a man an jam it, foul or no foul. Huge disappointment.

that's not entirely true what about the Kent state coach that was hired during a show cause.

I would take pearl or another coach like him with a ncaa investigator strapped to his back over what we are witnessing right now.
