i understand what your trying to say, but using those numbers does not make your argument for 2 reasons. First of all, Hyde missed a few games due to an injury, if not for those missed games/carries, hes easily a 1200-1300 yard back. 2nd of all, your also factoring in Braxton's "carries" that were not designed runs but on a broken play.

I can assure you that Hyde was the biggest part of our offense last year and that Hurd is being recruited as a featured RB, not a converted TE. That I can tell you with 100% certainty.

Ok, although at this point...I still think I'll take the "wait and see" approach where it concerns Urban & big feature backs.

No, I was in the same class as Victor. He actually graduated in 1998, and played all 4 years at Red Bank.

Yeah wrong Victor...my bad

Yeah, I have only heard of Hurd being recruited as a RB at OSU. From my understanding that was part of what pushed him away from Bama in the first place (the fact that they wanted him as a WR/TE rather than as a true RB).

I'd be slightly surprised if he sticks as an OSU lean, though. The Eddie George comparison someone made earlier sort of sparks my sentimentality, as I've been a lifelong Eddie George fan--and I do agree, they have a very similar skill-set (big, strong, long stride, natural runner, ability to break tackles, great top-speed and acceleration). But George was used in a traditional OSU pro-style offense, Meyer currently runs the Spread. I'd have to think Hurd ends up with a team that runs a pro-style offense that'll give him the ball for 25+ carries/game, don't know that OSU's style of offense would be as conducive to that as Tennessee's, Florida's, etc.

Can I get a definition of sentimentality? Or better yet who actually uses it?

Time to move on to these guys. Why should we give a damn about Vonn Bell, Derrick Green, or Carl Lawson anymore? Kill the threads.

Agreed, all focus and attention should be spent on the surprising amount of talent that this state seems to have for the 2014 class.

With that being said, every time I see my two younger cousins who both go to Beach with Jalen they always rant and rave about how good of a kid he is, that he always carries himself very well.
It has been a while since middle TN has produce a huge player for UT, here's to hoping that Jalen can be that kid.

I know CJF has been recruiting hurd very much, but last time I heard it seem like Ohio state was sorta leading the way, we will know for sure a year from now

Hes definitley one of our top 3 rb targets for 14.

Does CUM have a job opening ready for Hurd's mom? If not, then you won't get him; however, if he can call her the morning of NSD and guarantee her a job, then you guys might just lock up another TN boy.

It's going to be extremely depressing around here if we don't get this kid. I'm talking Von Bell backlash x 10 depressing. Please dear god let's have a winning season. I know if he have a winning season and show that we are a much improved team then Hurd will commit to us. But we can't afford that brake even crap or going negative again.

I want to see how he'll do after losing Beech's offensive line. They were monsters. This year they'll be smaller. Not discrediting the kid at all, but he had massive holes to run through!

Then you didn't watch many games, did you? The line was good - not great. The line will be good enough this year again too. You can bank on that.
