Just like I say every year. Maybe next year. I must quit getting my hopes up for these blue chip prospects. We never seem to get many. We did get North.

I will agree with wanting the barn to loose.
I hope Carl is productive and makes a good future for himself in the NFL.
I hate everything barn, they are the only SEC team I ever hope gets beat by non SEC teams.
I have great respect for all these kids putting their blood sweat and tears on the field.
While I hope his team never wins a game, I hope he gives his all an makes it to the NFL.

It's a matter of opinion I guess. Because I HATE AUBURN WITH EVERYTHING IN MY BODY! And still very much consider them a rival.

I get that, but I'm ambivalent. Him finding NFL success hurts us on the trail, so I don't have any interest.

No you guys are saying you won't root for him. I understand hating AU, everyone does. But saying specifically you won't root for him is different. Obviously not counting if they play us.

I'm shocked at the support for the kid. He left us at the altar. Him giving us short term attention and our decade of woes has turned us into a sad lot.

I'm not hostile at all about the kid. I still don't care whether he wins or loses any more. That's not sour grapes. He plays for an enemy now.

He didn't leave us at the altar. It sounds like he's been all AU for a while and we have been fed crap. He considered us a close second and he held offers from a lot if big programs. He is a class act.

I honestly hope the kid stays healthy. I also hope the coaches at AU screw him over every way possible. Maybe come this time next year his feelings toward what is going on at AU will have him telling kids at his previous HS that Tennessee is the way to go.

How is he a class act? He did what I would expect of any decent human being. He didn't circumcise third world kids or anything. He went through the recruiting process. Nothing more.

And how are we not left at the altar.

We play AU once every what 5+ years?

I don't care if AU goes 0-12 every year. If he plays really well against everyone but us and goes on to have a great NFL career, I will be happy for him. I don't hold grudges apparently.

That's my basic point. I don't care if he loses every game he ever plays going forward.

We've got some crazy sentiment that him giving us attention and not acting like a typical petulant douchebag earns him some sort of special place in Vol hearts. Screw that.

Why do I give a crap how often we play them. We have to come out on top of them to win our conference. He doubled down on hurting our prospects there. Why would I root for him?

The grudge comment is senseless. I don't hold any grudge against him. I want Vols winning and other SEC teams losing. Had he gone to LSU, I'd still not give a crap about Auburn wins.

Did North leave UNC at the altar??? I say no. He wanted to be a Vol, so he did. He gave UNC a lot of chances, but they just couldn't entice him specifically.

Same situation, but switch some teams around and you have Carl.

I consider people like Carl a class act. I consider guys like Reuben Foster in the opposite light. Best way I can explain my opinion...

I'm not gonna root for him, nor will I root against him. He chose Auburn so it's basically as if he doesn't exist to me. He had nice things to say about UT...well butter my biscuit. I seriously doubt he's setting around sobbing over UT. He's made his decision and moved on and that's what I'm doing. No hatred for the kid...but damn sure no love.
