Maybe we are going to a no RB offense. 5 wide every play and just throw it 74 times a game. That would help explain our RB recruiting. Just keep stacking up on the WRs and it just shows RBs that maybe running the ball is not what Tennessee will be doing.

Guys you never know how kids mature. This kid you are dismissing and he is finished growing or maturing. How does anyone know if that 40 time is accurate? You don't. He is friends with a kid who is a commitment and a kid who is a top target for next season. Experts need to back off a bit here

4.88 40.... wow

Yeah, not sure how accurate that is. He claims he runs a 4.44. He did win top RB honors at the Alpharetta MVP camp, not sure over who the article just says over top prospects from Georgia, south carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Alabama

LV, not to be rude, but this is getting old from you. You have been harping on this for days. We can't FORCE a RB to come here. Is it frustrating? Absolutely!! I don't understand either why no top notch RBs want to be a Vol, and have one of the best RB coaches in the country coach them. We can't tell them "you will be a Vol...end of story".

I hope Cranford is going to be a preferred walk-on...he looks jacked in that pic.

That's not Jenkins in the middle...I am almost 100% positive that is Myles Autry from Norcross...would love to get Hurd, Autry, and Paulk as our 3 RBs in 2014.

Dang, Paulk's hat is legit, he looks like a boss vol, a commitment from him would help push us for next year. Get some of the other georgia boys looking at us early

Maybe it is getting old. So is our RB recruiting. It is a message board and I will speak my mind as I see fit. You don't have to read it. If the coaches can't recruit/land RBs, maybe we need to look at new coaches to recruit said position. If you can't recruit RBs in the SEC, your set up for failure. It's not optional and you can't take years off. :hi:

Never said you could take years off, LV. Never mind, as you have missed my point. I think it is clearly obvious that our coaches have been recruiting their butts off...I don't know when they have slept since they were hired. It seems that they go non-stop, which is great.

Nobody on staff is taking a year off. Ask yourself this, if you were an elite tailback would you come to UT right now? To be real the last three years we have not put any effort in running the ball consistently. You can't tell me you would. Why do you think UF has had trouble getting WR's lately?

Yes. I would. Early playing time and Jones has already proven he can have NFL running backs (Isaiah Pead)

I'll give you the Pead example. But people always use the early playing time argument. It ain't gonna do you any good if we dont run enough. We have a track record the last three years that will back it up. How many times have we needed to run and we just chucked it last few years. Why do you think we are reeling in 4-5 WR's a year. That was the offense to be in for good WR's. But I do believe we will be balanced now, as you mentioned CBJ has proven it.:twocents:

Just for reference, in 2012 Tennessee rushed for more yards than these SEC teams:

South Carolina
Kentucky
Auburn
Miss State
Mizzu
Arkansas

Miss and Vandy rushed for about 250 yards more than we did.

Seems the coaches could recruit a RB with this type of info. JMO

Good job on the info.:hi: Course a few of those teams also have QB's that can and will get yards with their feet. I was talking tailbacks. Plus AU nor UK could do much of anything last year as they combined to win 5 games. USCe wouldn't be on that list if Lattimore didn't get hurt

Good point. But we sometimes forget how many rushing yards Patterson got for us.
