I am trying to confirm still. Obviously Ford has made it clear he's not speaking with the media at this point and wants his space (which he has every right to). He was pretty clear on his Twitter page last night that he was going to Auburn this weekend to visit and that's the indication I have today. But I don't think he has arrived on their campus so anything could happen. My guess is he visits there.
Aub brought in all these 4 stars the last 2-3 years
Quan Bray - jr next year
Tre Mason - jr next year
Mike Blakely - so next year
Javon Robinson - he still there? i think he is done
Cameron Artis-Payne EE'd this month
They are pretty loaded
I would not say that they are loaded at all. Yeah, that is a decently long list of four stars, but none of them have really done much.
Quan Bray- Has been playing WR
Tre Mason- Just kind of meh, he's been a good back but not going to set the world on fire by any means.
Mike Blakely- Has gained a whole 153 yards in his college career.
Javon Robinson- No longer on the roster
Cameron Artis-Payne- JUCO running back that only has 2 seasons of eligibility left, and has yet to play a down of college football.
- Bray is WR
- Tre Mason had over 1000 yards/5.9 average YPC last year with our crappy offense. He is a very good back. (His dad is Maseo of De La Soul).
- Blakely could be an excellent RB if he gets his head on straight. Transferred from UF after Fla moved to pro-style system.
- Artis-Payne, 5-foot-11, 220-pound running back, No. 8 Rivals JUCO, rushed for over 3,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in two seasons. (Originally from PA, he will be 23 when season starts).
We'll have to agree to disagree about Mason. I don't think he is a bad back by any means, I just came away thinking he was not anything more than a slightly above average back anytime I saw you guys play last year. Regardless though, you guys are not loaded enough at running back to scare a back like ford away like the poster I was responding to was insinuating. Mason is the only one on that list that has done anything in the SEC, and after that there are question marks. Sure Blakely could get his head on straight, and Artis-Payne could pan out (which can be a bit of a crap shoot with juco players), but nobody knows if that will happen yet.
Bump
already really wanted but now an absolute necessity.
