If i had to bet money right now, I'd say he doesnt wind up in Columbus either. We lead for many, many months (straight from Vonn's mouth), but Bama has the edge now imho after a few things our insiders heard on Vonn's visit here 2 weeks ago. But to rule out tOSU and Urban Meyer is just plain dumb on your part. have you been asleep for the last 7 years of cfb and recruiting, especially when Urban Meyer is involved?

Urban thought he was gonna spend his day at the state championship game, and lock him up, but he was wrong. This isn't Urban at Florida, he isn't hand picking everyone, and still has a ways to go before competing with the big dogs of the SEC (talking the elite,not everyone) again.

From every thing I have seen and read, Vonn and his brother didn't take the OSU visit too seriously. I don't know if OSU lead, I think its.been Bama for awhile. Urban better look elsewhere

Vonn wants to play in the best conference in college football, not the 4th at best.

Oooh, I hope that is true. Whatever helps land him in orange, and legal, I'm all for it. Also just glad to hear Berry is going to be there and past the issues that Dooley created.

You might want to take a closer look at Meyer's recruiting history. He has won with the talent of other coaches. Utah fell off as the players he recruited matured into the team's core. Same at UF. In fact, he left a pretty thin roster there.

Meyer is NOT a great recruiter or judge of talent. Other people seem to do a better job of recruiting the players he needs to be successful than he does.

I have to disagree with you as much as I dislike the Gators and especially Meyer. Admittedly he had a wealth of talent in Florida to choose from but he was successful outside of the state as well. Zook left him a lot of talent but he accumulated his fair share. And, he then won 2 NC with that group.

It is a stretch to downplay what he accomplished at UF. I'm still not a fan of his.

Did DD & staff mess this kids recruiting up?
Or
Is he just wanting to go elsewhere?

Hard to swallow knowing that you have Bell and Ramsey in state and there is a decent chance you get neither one of them?

It is said that DD did not return cals and also that his coach sent him highlight reels of Vonn and once again no response from DD.

I guess you could argue that a lack of discipline contributed to high attrition... BUT....

It isn't about rankings. He got rankings. Any HC at UF will. It is about results.

Meyer beyond any question inherited a better roster at UF and Utah than he left.

Hope he isn't holding this against the new staff. I know its about relationships but if he grew up a UT fan and CBJ has made it abundantly clear Bell is wanted and needed I would hope he wears orange.
