'13 GA DE Davin Bellamy (UGA signee)

I'm perfectly fine with people underestimating our coaches abilities to recruit these kids, but I feel like some are just denying a lot of evidence.

Then again, we may only be getting the side of the story that we want.

3 losing seasons in 3 years will not get you alot of respect on many fronts.

since bellamy goes to the same school as noir i bet jones is trying to get a package deal. i bet jones feels that if he gets one of bellamy's friends, bellamy will follow

This quote says alot:

"“I look at Tennessee and they are now going to run a 4-3 scheme and they think I would be perfect for them,” Bellamy mentioned. “I look at their depth chart and it’s not nearly as strong as it is at Florida State. I have a real good opportunity to get there and start from day one and play major SEC football. The coaches have been pushing for me hard and I just feel like they may want me more than any school coming after me.”"

Seems obvious to me that Butch is doing a good bit of negative recruiting towards FSU. Bellamy says he's been researching the depth chart in Tallahassee and feels like other schools may be better fits for him. He did say that an FSU coach was at his school yesterday and did a pretty good job of answering some concerns for him.

I have concerns that with NSD approaching quickly and us filling spots up, how much room does that give us to add on his TE buddy? We still need room for Lawson, North, hopefully Green or Ford, J Miller, Bell, Gibson, Boyd, among others. Can we risk taking a low rated TE and then either telling one of our commitments to take a hike or worse, tell a big time recruit that we have no room.

Even if.we land every single guy you mentioned we would have room I believe.

It ain’t negative recruiting when it’s the truth.

Take into consideration that their are probably one or two current committed players that will flip to other schools on NSD. Skipper, Carr, and Sutton come to mind. JC Copeland is a prime example of this happening a couple of years back. It happens every year. The coaches have to take all of this into consideration.

Carr isn't flipping bra. We may lock down skipper, and Sutton.

Is it really "negative recruiting" when what's being said is true?

FSU's DL depth is better, arguably significantly. So if CBJ tells Bellamy that "we need you a helluva lot more than FSU" that's not really negative, it's the truth.

We are going to lose Sanders...that should be it.

"Florida State is the place I've wanted to be since March," noted Bellamy. "I fell in love with Coach Fisher. I fell in love with Coach Craig. I'm just not so sure if it's the best place for me anymore. The coaches that wanted me there are no longer there. The new coaches want me, but I'm just not sure if the connection is there that I had with Craig, Coach (Mark) Stoops and Coach (D.J.) Eliot. They came to my games, my practices and to my school and they handpicked me to play for them. I'm just not sure if I'll vibe as well with the new guys there. I have to make the best decision for my career and my future. The only reason I haven't left is because of Coach Fisher. I respect that guy more than anything and he is the reason that I love that school."

Again, negative recruiting is just typically pointing out a truth that works in your favor.

When everyone was crying over opposing coaches using Derek Dooley's job security negatively on the recruiting trail, it turned out to be the truth. Regardless, it's still negative recruiting. :good!:

Package deal??

Kid's not overly athletic after the catch (just guessing maybe a 4.7), but he makes great catches in traffic over the middle for a high schooler. That courage can't be taught. I didn't watch all of the highlights, but there is one game where he torched guys over the top. They threw to him alot.
