'13 SC DL Jaylen Miller (UT signee)

Even if he does take his visits, those other schools can't compete with us.

Also, I've heard he's already told the coaches (and some media members) that he's committed. Just wants to get home and decide when to announce it.

Man I hope he has silently. +1 those other schools can't match up. And it might get the ball rolling with a Lawson and/or Bellamy.

You've been tossing these hints all week. Are you more connected than you let on, or are you just going with your gut and some tid bits of rumors? I don't get a lot of time to keep up with the boards and don't know who all are the insiders.

I wouldn't say I'm connected. I just hear things every now and then.

"No, if Miller wants in they will take him. I think he just wanted to come home and come off the high and make sure he wants to be a Vol and I think he ends up at Tennessee in the end. He did tell me he had a family issue come up during the visit and I think that's why you saw those tweets about being upset. It had nothing to do with his visit from him."

He could gain a solid 20 lbs and move inside in a few years.

If he turns out to be a beast DE, keep his weight down and leave him there.

""I hung out with the coaches the entire time. I feel like I've known those coaches my whole life, especially the d-line coach, coach (Steve) Stripling . He's very easy to talk to and I feel like we can relate to each other because he's passionate about pass rushing just as much as I am," Miller said. "Coach (Tommy) Thigpen, we talk like we've known each other for years. Coach (Jay) Graham, I've known him for a few years. Coach (Butch) Jones, he's really laid back and easy to talk to and coach (John) Jancek he's easy to talk to."

With his Tennessee visit wrapped up, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman may be done taking official visits but wants to think it over for several days before doing anything.

"I really don't know. I want to take my official visits, but then again this whole recruiting process is getting hectic. I'm thinking about canceling my other official visits. It's just something I've got to figure out for myself," Miller offered. "I was supposed to go to Wake Forest and Maryland and maybe N.C. State. But, right now I feel like I don't want to, but I don't want to say one thing and do another."

When asked if Miller answered, "Most likely."

Boom IMO

It's really hard to say what offers are legit with players. Only the player and the coaches know for sure, and sometimes the player doesn't even know.. But u have some posters that act like they know it all, so...

If you're asking if he could commit to LSU right now I'd say no. He probably could have at one point, though.

I think UT has told him that he will get a shot at DE, his preferred position, but he is predicted to end up at DT eventually.

He had 26 sacks this season. Leave him at DE unless the staff is forced to moved him to DT. Honestly he would need to put on 25-30 to be a DT in the SEC if he is currently a true 260.

He’ll gain weight, that’s pretty much assured. As long as he’s in the 280 range and can still stop the run, that’s perfect for this defense. They use that heavy/strong-side end as a third tackle/run stopper.

He’s still got pass rush responsibilities and has to contain the outside. It’s just that SDE is gonna be bigger than a Cover 2 DE. 280 to 290 isn’t even a problem as long as the quicks and rush ability are there. The Seattle Seahawks use this system and Red Bryant’s about 320.

I think it's time for this kid to go ahead and commit. We need to hear a big BOOM today. Been kind of quiet around here of late.
