I can't think of any really good reason this kid hasn't just gone ahead and committed to Alabama. Which is why I think he really wants to give us every shot in the world to sway him our way. Dooley may have screwed up with Vonn but Tennessee has still always been in the back of his mind. That's why Butch got us back in this. This weekend is the pivotal moment in his recruitment. I just hope they can pull out all the stops.

No kidding. I think he is wanting so bad to come up here and it be everything he wanted it to be. Hopefully it will be. Its either that or he comes up and just doesn't feel it. This visit will either seal the deal for bama or put us right there with them on NSD.

It really seems like Ohio State is out of this, and it's us or Bama. Interesting cause we all know Dooley blew it and he's really giving Butch a chance.

The Bell and Lawson fronts seem to be getting brighter everyday, now we can only hope that they finish it by signing their name on an Orange LOI

The Green front seems brighter, too. I have to keep telling myself that landing 3 five stars is a bit much to hope for...

Its been talked about a lot that Vonn was a fan growing up. Not taking anything away from butch as a recruiter, but I doubt we are in this if he wasn't a childhood fan.

It seems like we've worked back in on Green, but I think it's too little too late. As far as the three I would rather have the combination of Bell and Lawson because of their immediate impact on the defense if they were to commit.

Just got off the phone with Vonn Bell's coach, Mark Mariakis, and he said the visit with the Tennessee coaches, which included all the defensive staff as well as Jones, was good for Tennessee. Coach Mariakis wasn't in attendance because they were out of school and the visit took place at Vonn's house, but he did say he talked to a family member about the visit.

He added given the amount of time Tennessee has had with Vonn, compared to a year for Ohio State and Alabama's staff, they've done well and Vonn seems to like the new staff. I think having Martinez has helped as well with Bell.

Guys - this is just unreal. When we hired Butch Jones, I had no idea this is what we'd be watching in the weeks leading up to NSD.

I have no idea where this is going to end, but the ride sure is fun.

Imagine when he has a whole year to recruit a class. Combine that with a successful year, within reason, and I think we'll start to see a rise in recruiting. Staff continuity will be key as well. This staff seems loyal to CBJ. I like that.
