'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Will he start next year? No, but he would not just ride the bench as you clearly stated. He would however see his fair share of snaps, as those programs have shown that they will share the ball between multiple rbs if you are good enough. A back like Kamara will certainly see numerous snaos every game right off the bat wherever he goes.

He will not get a share of the snaps from Gurly and Marshall. Maybe 5-8 snaps a game, I consider that riding the bench. At Bama he is coming in with a great haul of backs in Penny, Jone, and Henry. So he will be competing with 3 other freshman plus the already established backs Bama has. So again he will be lucky to get a few snaps agame.
I believe at any other schools in the SEC besides those two he would get the lions share of carries.he will not see numerous snaps right off the bat at Bama or ga.

He will not ride the pine at UGA or UA if healthy. He may be used differently at UA than at UGA or UT. Guy is good and the uninformed comments in this thread just show ignorance if they are not sarcastic. However, the info on him cancelling is sketchy at best because he was never coming this weekend. Until other sources confirm that UT is eliminated, I will continue to believe we have a shot.

Because people do not agree with you does not mean they are less informed. It is a simple matter of a difference of opinion on how he would be used at different schools. I continue to say he would be a big impact at other SEC schools, I just think he will make less of an impact at Ga and Bama. We simply disagree.

He won't ride the pine that is for sure.. but he won't be starting barring mass injuries in front of him anytime in the near future.

Rusty Mansell is saying Kamara canceled his visit and eliminated Tennessee

"After speaking with Alvin Kamara on Friday morning it seems what most have known for a while. He is down to two schools.
It was looking like Kamara would visit Tennessee this weekend, but he told on Friday 'not anymore.' I asked him if Georgia and Alabama would be on the two schools he would visit he replied 'yea probably.' He should have visits set up soon between the two SEC schools, who are also looking to get the last visit."

Think his research is Rusty. That or you big troll!

He'd play special teams and maybe a play or two in the slot, but he would not be taking carries away from the tailbacks at UGA or at Bama.

This is not a shot at Kamara. it is just the reality that both of those schools are loaded with talented RBs who have proved their mettle at the SEC level.

Nope. Good luck to AK wherever he chooses...and he won't be riding the pine either! The young man is an elite talent! I hope the only game that he is terrible in every year is when he faces the Big Orange!! :)

He said he cancelled his visit THIS weekend. Isn't he planning on being on campus the weekend of the 18th?

For some reason people keep missing the fact that he wasn't scheduled to be here this weekend, so the credibility of the comment about us being out of the running is not solid IMO.

You have to be "IN" the running first before you can be be put "OUT" of the running.

Or if you take off the orange glasses for a second, the article could be wrong and he meant next weekend.

Bottom line is it doesnt look good, he still says its down to those two, or is everyone overlooking that part of the quote?

Was not directed at you. I believe he could have a more immediate impact at UT. Was directed at more of the comments I was reading that just said things like get ready to ride the pine ect.....sort of similar to the comments of don't want him anyway type of comments we see from time to time.

Kamara was not quoted as having UGA and bama top two. The journalist made that statement based on the fact that Kamara isn't visiting UT this weekend. The journalist assumed that because Kamara was not visiting this weekend that he had canceled his visit to UT. Kamara was never scheduled to visit this weekend, it has always been the 18th. I miss nothing.

Rusty has excellent connections, especially with Bama. Rusty came out weeks ago and called AK to Bama. IMO, this one is over unless something changes between now and NSD.
