'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

This weekend is Clemson's biggest recruiting weekend, forget what they call it, but it's like Dawg Night or FNL at UF. If I were Lawson I'd rather go this weekend with all the other recruits too. He likes them so it makes sense he would go then. If he shows up next weekend to UT I still like our chances. IMO

I'm of the opinion that the only "very bad news" to come from Lawson will be the day he signs an LOI with someone other than UT.

This kids has held his info closer to the vest than just about any other recruit. Info is as cryptic as can be....

Agreed, kind of like that guy in the 90's, he played QB, nobody really could read him, what was his name...

Oh yeah, Peyton Manning, that was his name. How did that one end up for us :)?

I agree but not as strongly as I would have before reading Uzzi. I thought this was a simple as if he makes it to campus he was ours but now it sounds like more ground has to made up.

Lawson said he is a lock for the 18th, I believe if he does in fact visit we will know very soon as to whom he's will be suiting up for next year.

Never ever like our chances against Clem$on. I dont think the Lawsons would be swayed by those tactics but those guys have serious hot sauce and are tough to beat.

He choose the Clemson visit over us this weekend and moving the visit had nothing to do with Jenkins.

Very bad news. No other way to spin it. He is clemson's to lose.

It is hard to follow your logic and way of thinking sometimes. Not saying you're wrong because in recruiting......who knows....but....

It may very well be true that he is Clemson's to lose, but him coming to UT after Clemson is a lot better than him going to Clemson after UT. We get the chance to match or better anything they do. I believe everyone will agree they have great recruiters there. Our best chance is to follow them.

He pushed us back for Clemson, and I refuse to believe any player of his caliber and school choices is coming until it happens. Been bridesmaided too many times.

Pushing us back for Clemson doesn't mean much if he still comes here on the 18th. We want to be fresh on his mind come signing time, being one of the last to get a visit is good, if he comes. It looks bad saying he wanted to go to Clemson, from the comment alone. But could be a million reasons why he wanted to go there this weekend.

+1

Hard for me to see it playing out in our favor. Those who used the change from the 11th to the 18th as a kid wanting to visit with his friend seems to have been proved wrong. CL has put off visiting here several times. Maybe TheDooley comes on here Feb 5th and says that this "big fish" is on the hook.

I'm not worried about it, unless of course he cancels our visit after going to Clemson. Then I'll :banghead2:

He changed dates to be at Clemsons big recruiting weekend. BFD, if he comes he'll see we offer more and it will have a one on one feel. Clemson is trying to get kids to pop with glitz and hype, which is fine, but Lawson is a level headed cat by all appearences.

I don't think it's necessarily a pecking order if Clemson has some big event going on for recruits this week.

UT basically has the same thing going on next week even if it isn't official, we still have a ton of recruits and a lot of his friends coming in. If I were in Carl's shoes I would do the same thing.

It's not bad news, not good news, it's just information.

You guys think too hard about who is leading and what not. Its not like there is a way tp quantify it and we need to score 60 more points to get him or something.

High school kids are fickle. We're clearly in it and he hasn't made a decision. It seems like it's neck and neck right now and I like our chances of he shows up still with an open mind.
