Lame attempt to put a spin on the situation to paint Bama as Bell's choice even though he has yet to announce.

How did that Liner thing go for you? Looks like he is staying at Auburn and pushing for others to come there as well. Keep trying slappy, maybe one of these days you will realize you're a fan of a team with no more inside info than the rest of us have.

Im sorry that u came to that conclusion from my comment. Nothing in my statement makes anyone with any sense think that I was painting Bama as Bell's choice. I didnt say he shouldnt go to UT either because he should be able to shine and develop at either one of the schools. All 3 have good DB coaches, imo. The kid said himself that he has questions about the UT's coaching staff because of the uncertainty. He already knew Bama/OSU coaching staff. I guess I made that up huh?

The whole point of my statement is that his decision shouldnt be based on being a lifelong fan of a team like some on here thing it should, its alot more factors than that.

Jameis Winston was a so called lifelong Bama and OU fan but he picked FSU because of other factors (baseball). He made the best decision, imo, for his future. This is a different situation but it still had factors. You have to take off the homer glasses to see some things.

I guess its Feb. and Liner has signed his Letter of Intent. nice try though.

Sorry to post paysite info.

the buzz out of Orlando being that Liner is telling other prospects he’ll end up at Alabama, which is similar to what he was telling teammates at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. Liner continues to remain publicly mum on the Crimson Tide and while he’s been back and forth over the past two years, UA continues to hold its strong position as has been the case for the last several months.

Don't you hate it when a recruit trolls people just to get the hopes up of a fan base. Geez these kids.

Liner will take an OV to UA in the few weeks. I guess all the trolling he is doing will be found out when he shows up at UA in his AU gear.

That's your problem. You like to butt in other people's exchanges and act as if you are under attack when someone responds.

And you buy anything that comes from a paysite as gospel.

Either way, that info you are passing off as fact is no more credible than Gruden coming to Tennessee. Keep drinking the kool aid and paying to be a member of your guessing site. I'm sure they appreciate it.

Disagree...when i was 19-25 i was wayyyyyy more invested into college sports, music etc.

Today sitting in my mid-30's I have work to worry about, kids, family, wife, and a million different things to vow allegiances to.

At 18 who wins on Friday(HS) or Saturday(CFB) could ruin your entire next week...today i'm usually over it by Monday!

Thats the thing we dont know what his mind set is.
There is alot of people in their mid 30's and 40's now that have their entire week ruined by a lost. We have some of those on volnation.

Nowadays we have these superstar HS seniors that want to get the most exposure they possibly can playing at the college level and hopefully be on the 3 and done program instead of worrying about a childhood alliance to a certain team. Things are lil different now than they were 15 to 20 years ago when you were a teen

I agree.

Did Austin Sanders give two craps about who the coach is or how special he was treated by the previous staff?????? Fff No!!!! The second that kid had an offer he committed. I've heard a lot of people say VB grew up a huge Vol fan, well it seems to me that he's a fair weather fan. I'll never know what it's like to play really good at football but I know one thing, if CUM or CNS asked me to play one snap for them I would laugh in their face and tell them I'm a VFL.

If this kid is a true VOL fan ill cheer him the rest of his life. If he's not then I will think of him as that kid who everyone thought was a true VOL fan.
:eek:lol: :lolabove:
This has got to be in the running for dumbest post of the year and we still have 362 days to go.

Its even worse that at least three people agreed with it by giving it a thumbs up! :fool:

I've said this before but..... You are NOT helping. Like it or not, kids DO read message boards and are very sensitive to what is said. So it would be beneficial to your favorite football team if you and others refrain from bad mouthing 17-18 yr olds on the internet.

It's their life, not yours. You don't have to agree with it. Why do so many people feel it necessary to act like children when it comes to this recruiting business??

I agree. If you guys really wanted to help sway these guys bad mouthing is def NOT the way to do it. You guys dont realize what an impact Volnation and message boards in general have on not only the kids but the parents as well.

Actually that was my point is that nothing that comes from any source pay or a free board is a fact. It is all speculation and assumptions. Yes some truths are out there like he will take a visit to UA, but a visit does not mean a flip or commit. I know the difference.

And again your assumption is wrong on the latter. I have never been member of a pay site or paid for recruiting info. And I have seen many on here run with info from a pay site as if it was the most reliable source. Half the info they get are from so called insiders on boards like this.

I'm married and 46 and I'm still not over last years loss to Kentucky, every loss hurts when you love your university and team. I'm new to VB but a lifetime fan and hope Vonn Bell selects UT!

"I am going to take three official visits and I want to give each school a chance, give them the respect they deserve for recruiting me, and get my family out there with me to see how they feel at each school," Bell said.

Alabama, Ohio State, and Tennessee are his finalists, but the school he grew up a fan up because of where he lived was the Vols.

They have had a coaching change, so he is interested in seeing what the new staff is all about.

"Butch Jones has a good history at Cincinnati, so we are going to give him a chance, see what he wants to do at Tennessee, and take a visit up there to get to know him. I have talked to Coach Jones, he is a winning coach, so he seems like he knows what he is doing."

These are the most positive quotes from Bell re: UT in his entire recruitment.

Seems to be a very bright, level headed young man who truly did grow up a Vol fan. With the uncertainty and general malaise that has surrounded the program for the last few years, the fact that he is still willing to give CBJ a fair shot at this late date speaks volumes. IMHO.

I agree. I still think UT has ground to make up, but everything I am reading is he will give CBJ every opportunity to do so.

No its not if u r a real fan there is one place you want to go and no way in hell i would ever consider bama r u kidding

I hope you're either being sarcastic or that you're just a troll.

I started to type out a response, but I stopped and thought, why? You're obviously one of those posters who believes himself to be the biggest Vol fan ever and as such you can decide who is and is not a Voll fan. Nothing I can say will make you change your mind because you choose to remain blissfully ignorant to the world around you.

There are a multitude of reasons VB might choose another school, ranging from coaching relationships to degrees offered at each school. That is called reasoning. (Perhaps you should google the word and educate yourself.) Whatever choice he makes, he has to make the one he feels best suits him and his future. I wish him the best.

I invite you to lay out your life details for us to judge you as you have judged him, but I sincerely doubt you will do so.

Worth a like and a bump.

I think this benefits us immensely, especially with the last visit.

Him being a Vols fan growing up, and us being the last visit for him and him being able to finally meet all the staff is huge and I think we get him.

After you stopped and thought why, you should have stopped again. Completely stopped.

But, I do consider myself a big vol fan, but not the biggest. Just like a lot of posters on here I grew up in Knoxville I watched every game, at the stadium or at home since I can remember. I've spent a lot of money on tickets, gear, hats, jerseys, stuff to put on my walls, and wasted a lot of time on here. Disagree with me all you want but I still think if he were a true vol fan he would have already committed regardless of the situation like Sanders did. Or the boys from CAK. I understand VB has a lot of pressure from everyone to play for them. But he's been quoted a lot saying, he grew up a big vol fan. Well if that's the case he needs to choose UT or let me root against him. I really really want him to choose UT.

Weezer sucks. Used to be good.

You really don't get it. There's the fantasy world you're living in, then there's reality. His future is far more important than his fanhood. He has to make what he believes is the best decision for his future, not for the team he grew up rooting for. Would you sacrifice your future for UT?
