Zo will not get an offer to be a HC in the Big 10 the way things are going at UT. I'd like nothing more than to see the departure of Zo and the return of Pearl but Pearl coming back to UT is just not an option.

Pearl lost to Indi ******* napolis

He also managed to lose to Oakland, Charlotte, COC and USC all in the same year...didn't think that was even possible until he pulled it of.

Those 5 losses in the same year is something to be proud of, no doubt.

Martin's record as a HC doesn't hold a candle to Bruce Pearl's record!!!!!!!!!!

Great argument, let's compare pearls 6 years at UT to Martin's 1 1/2...GENIUS.


I don't think anyone is claiming Martin's better than pearl right now, atleast im not. However, equally as dumb is definitively saying Martin needs to be gone, or that hell never be good.

what i said was that i would like nothing more than to see the departure of Zo and the return of Pearl..... but i also said that was not an "option"....

purely a fantasy statement based upon the original post!!!! but like fantasy.... it will never happen.

and no I do not think that he will get it done here - and by get it done I mean make the AA tourney year in and year out and win some games in the tourney. but I think that he should be given this year before he is judged too harshly.....that being said, UT should have made the tourney last year but they dropped a few games that should not or they would have made it!!!!

By all means yes!

It would be a strong accomplishment on accounts by all involved and I do hope that they make the AA tourney this year.

Their defense has been very good this year however their offense has been woeful - I understand that Maymon's absence has made things difficult but I swear these guys shooting is let's just call it "lacking".

so you know me personally enough to say that I am dumb....ok...when your beloved coach is out in 2-3 yrs I will be laughing...I am a casual fan of basketball now....I watched/listened to it religiously when Pearl was there...I keep up with it now but dont watch...

I would never call anyone dumb...just making dumb statements. And I know you weren't referencing me. But to say that it isn't exciting anymore is kind of dumb. Who cares as long as we win? Would you care if we beat Georgia in football 10-6? Heck no. I am sorry that you don't watch because it isn't exciting.

yeah not meant for you....I guess bc I am not a BBall fan much at all is why....I havent watched a NBA game in prob 6yrs....dont care for it...while I still want us to win, it has to be entertaining for me to watch....I still cheer for UT and always will but to watch it is another story....I actually went to my first ever mens game when Pearl was here, thats how much he had me interested in BBall....

Laughing at Martin for getting fired bc he said I was a dumb F for saying he was the white Dooley....not us not winning....he could still win but not enough to go to the NCAA....or make a deep run into the tourney....the NIT every year will not suffice....

Basketball is different than football......I can see why some think it is boring to watch...I just want to win but I do have doubts about Zo.

The NBA game and the college game are not the same. I would rather pour acid in my eyes than watch a NBA game, but that is just me. Give me the college game any day.

Well I agree with you about the NBA. I watch a lot of Grizzlies games because they are very competitive, but the NBA can be very hard to watch. Some of it is not true basketball. I understand about it not being exciting basketball. Pearl's teams were truly fun to watch. But I grew up playing basketball and understand how hard it is to play great defense. I just want to win no matter the score.

It's not much different when either team can't score a TD like last years LSU-Bama game. It is boring for an outsider but not for a fan of one if those teams. The problem this year is he is missing Maymon. I understand injuries are a part of the game. But he had to rebuild last year with no returning starters and then the one that developed into an all conference type player is hurt all year.

Lying to NCAA investigators during an investigation is against the rules.

It also shows a lack of institutional control, which can lead to much more than the dismissal of a coach.

SEC picked us to finish next to last - yet we finished next to first (and beat the gators twice).

Glad you're willing to give him the rest of this year to make amends. heh
