'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

If you hate to be the negative guy, dont be. Remain silent. Besides your attitude, how can you assume that UM has a better academic program than UT. Your 7 posts and your opinions are much like your IQ.

I really really hope this is a joke.

There is nothing wrong with UT's Academics, but Michigan is a better Academic school. It's not even debatable. To argue that looks silly. Michigan is one of the better public schools in the country.

You're mixing in grad level ratings. I seriously doubt that UT and UM are that different at the undergrad level when Comparing how good an education a football player gets.

I am a Tennessee student LOVE Tennessee, but I really regret NOTHING! I applied to North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Clemson and so on but my passion was always UT and once I got my acceptance letter my recruiting was done, I committed haha. The sports may be down, but Rocky Top is a special place and the friends and connections I have met at UT are irreplaceable. I would never trade it for another school. Anyways I hope we get D Green, he is an SEC type back and could really shine and put his name among the greats of UT while helping build this program back to the Top.

One of the better schools period...public or private. Michigan is an excellent academic institution.

Do we even know that academics are a factor for Green in this decision? Pretty sure Michigan has the most FBS wins of all time, so their football tradition is pretty good too.

Its the M part of UM that sucks. I have been there many times, sucks every time. There's a reason people retire TO Tennessee and other places in the south.

Importance of academic rankings at the undergrad level is very overrated. Grad school is where universities really seperate themselves.

I've lived in Michigan and it has some very beautiful areas, particularly Western Michigan. It also has some of the best fishing and breweries on planet earth. And some people actually enjoy snow, believe it or not. The entire state of MI isn't Detroit, BTW. Haters gonna hate.

D. Green...Vol, IMO.

Wouldn't have anything against snow if it could do it at 80 degrees.

I love the snow, I would move to Colorado or Utah in a heartbeat.

People retiring to the south is usually for 2 reasons, #1 it's inexpensive compared to the north. They can sell their homes and pay cash for one in the south. Now with the market being bad, you don't see that as much now.

#2 is the weather, same goes for Arizona and Nevada. Cold weather is tough on the bones and joints as you get older. I've lived on each coast and both north and south, my favorite place to live is Southern California. Great weather, beautiful women, laid back and very culturally diverse...it can be expensive but it's worth waking up everyday and being nice and sunny

Very true. Still does not compare though. The UP is crazy beautiful, but about 8 or so hours from Detroit. I can drive to Key West quicker than I can get to the UP from Middle Tn.

Thank you for bringing some sense back to this thread! Personally, I HATE snow, but not everyone does. Michigan is also much more pleasant than Tennessee during the summer.
