'13 FL ATH Lemond Johnson (UT Commit 12/16/12)

It really shouldn't take examples. Just look at some of the commits he took and offers he sent out, then look at the results on the field. You shouldn't have to connect the dots.

What offers did he send out that were so mind-boggling? Have an examples outside of the Sunseri offers?

His results on the field were terrible because he's a bad coach. It has nothing to do with his recruiting. A decent coach could've won with what we had this year. Why does this need to be spelled out for you?

we pulled CP, Hunter and Da'Rick, enough said.

Watch out, now. Lane Kiffin's name is around the corner.

But there are many others we landed with high profile offer lists.

Also, according to Hubbs, we had North, Green, and Koehler all but wrapped up. If those aren't considered "difference-makers," I don't know what is. I can't make excuses for the defense. Dooley was dumb enough to give Sunseri full control of the reigns.

Woo hoo... 1 good player, a headcase, and a player who cashed out after an injury.

I don't know what games you were watching on saturday, but CP is not a "good" player, He is the definition of ELITE. Watch more football.

Lemond Johnson when does he arrive on campus?

Keep spinning it... you might convince a couple people.

Two top 15 classes following two losing seasons. Dooley could recruit alright. Breakerboy seems to be mad that all of the talent was on the offensive side. To put it bluntly, duh, our offense was the only thing that showed results on the field. Who wouldn't want to play in it? Wilcox was a lame duck recruiter and Sirmon wasn't around long enough to reap the benefits. Thompson never lived up to his hype. Then there was the abortion of a staff this year.

Our biggest shortcomings recruiting defensively were missing out on some of the elite players more so than taking risks on lower ranked kids. Bonner, Coleman, Johnson, Maggitt, Randolph, Orta, McNeil, Couch, Moore, and O'Brien were all wanted by other schools. Dooley and staff failed on developing some, yes. Missing on Wright, Dawson, Santos, Peters, T. Elston (sp?) and some others killed us but losing does that. That's not a reflection of bad recruiting, but bad coaching. Then we got a few that you could really work in developing over a few years--Harris, Williams, and Gray.

Carson, Saulsberry, and Thomas were the big head scratchers. I also never understood why we passed on Pagan. But other than that our classes would've looked much better if Dooley could've just won a damn game or two.

Exactly. Before this year, our recruiting wasn't that bad. If we had simply won some games Wright, Santos, Peters, Countess, Elston, D. Williams, Autry, G. Smith and maybe a few others might've been Vols.

Bad coaching.

Good, so maybe your argument should be against his coaching, not his recruiting. He was recruiting just fine.

Winning allows you to get the elite talents at UT. This isn't Louisiana, Florida, Bama, or GA where talent grows on trees. The talent you keep begging for. We land them here and there, but winning gets them here. JMO, of course.

So you should take garbage players at impact positions in recruiting until you get to the top huh? The D.Young and Alden Hill pickups are two that immediately come to mind. Cody Blanc(the one everybody was saying was going kill in the slot laughable) is another crazy WR pickup. We could've gotten Ameer Abdullah or Andrew Buie in DY's place. Alden Hill pickup just never made good sense to me knowing we needed an impact guy at RB. Not having a RB coach was stupid too. Certain backs won't even look at a school without a Rb coach.

You've named about 6 players of the 60+ he recruited/signed. I'm not going to pinpoint every offer that I disagree with. He improved the roster drastically from a talent standpoint, overall.

But again, you're making my point without even noticing. This continues to go back to coaching. He was bad.

After watching Buie at West Virginia it makes me sick that we took Young. Didn't understand that then, don't now. Local kids don't get offers if there's better players elsewhere. Period. I think Dooley really made an unnecessary attempt to recruit locally when he didn't need to.

Guy, HE IS ARGUABLY THE MOST ELECTRIC PLAYER TO PLAY FOR THE VOLS. UNREAL TALENT. There is a reason he was a first team ALL-SEC in his ONLY year in SEC play. Please tell me how Dooley can't recruit.

THE BEST PLAYER EVER. I know he's good ok, but its 1 player.

Link to impact defensive recruits that overachieved, or lived up to the hype? That falls on evaluation.

Hard to judge some when they were playing as freshman or learning a new system (an overly complex one run by a first time DC) this past year. I think Couch, Sentimore, and Moore would deserve the most judgment (and they all share something in common).

He had what 3 years? Yeah, those guys aren't very good.

You mean I'm not a 5 star poster? Well damn... listen to BB dude. Blanc, Barnes, Hill, J Sanders, Watson, the list goes on.

Guess you need to stop following the vols. Lemond Johnson must be another one of those recruits you don't trust then. I think he will be a solid player for the Vols.

Haha ok, because I disagree with 1 former HC I should stop being a Vol. I guess all of those former players who disliked Dooley should stop being Vols too huh? Johnson will be a very good player in my opinion.
