Anyone else hate Christmas?

I really don't like Christmas time. It's always a time for people in family to get crabby with each other , have unrealistic expectations and inevitably leads to an arument with my in laws over politics which they ALWAYS bring up at the dinner table

My children are all adults and I really wish I could just skip it for a year. I tried to skip it this year but the mother-in law went nuts about being close to dying (she's healthy as a horse)

" It is oddly comforting to see my strange feelings articulated by cartoon character

Linus"Charlie Brown, you're the only person I know who can take a wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem."

Nope -- not just you, Charlie Brown. The rest of us just don't talk about it for fear that the Linuses of the world will pass judgment; if you can't join in the joy of the most wonderful time of the year, you are clearly defective. You are a misfit toy, minus the solidarity of an island full of kindred spirits

Festivus isn't until Sunday. You're a little early with your Airing of Grievances.

Thanks Everyone for making me laugh...Grumpy Cat was perfect

This morning the adult kids all started bickering about what time they can come to my house because of the other families and ..I predicted it ..It went straight to he$$ this AM
Everyone was texting horse crap by 8 to me and each other

I called my spouse and said "we have to get the painting done so how about we start Saturday and when they come offer them a paintbrush or a drop cloth covered chair?"

shovels and paint brushes will weed out friends quick

I guess there's not many religious people in here. Not one post about celebrating the birth of Christ?

That's the reason for the season. But you wouldn't hardly know it anymore. I hate the commercialism too. I love God the father, and His only begotten son Jesus.

Durrrrr. Stupid season.

Don't be an a-hole,
Sincerely, a retail employee.

Got all of my shopping done today, started this morning. Spent $26. Did it all by bicycle, in the snow, while I watched people slide all over in their cars and yell at me.

Also, f the Salvation Army.

I love Christmas like a little kid. Watching It's a Wonderful Life right now. I recommend you do the same.

I've had some pretty bad Christmases in the past. Lost a grandmother in a fire on Christmas Eve, my dad had a debilitating stroke a week before, got in a serious car wreck,... It was pretty ugly for a few years. I didn't blame Christmas or anything but it just wasn't a fun time. I've moved on though.

The build up can be stressful trying to get prepared for both families but all the nieces and nephews are little so that makes it fun. My kid (and one on the way) are still too young but by next year the older one will start understanding the process. That will be exciting.

As it stands I do enjoy Christmas now. Usually my wife and I get both our families together and invite close friends over if they don't have family near by. It gets crowded but it's fun.

And I honestly I do enjoy giving gifts even if I hate shopping. We just draw names for the adults on both sides and set a $100 limit. Even the kids draw names between each other but parents and grandparents still get their own a little something.

What I enjoy the most about Christmas time is the FOOD. Luckily, my in-laws don't bicker like Christmas Vacation or the Barone family. I use this time to stuff my face on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

I love what we celebrate as the birth of Christ, however hate how that is so offensive to everyone. I love the time with my family, when your hours away you are thankful when you get to see them.

I love what Christmas symbolizes, hate how they commercialize it. Christmas is about the birth of Christ, not how many gifts you can score.

Wal-Mart, Target, and big retail FTW!

Even better is online. Let computers and the FEDEX driver take care of everything for me!

Don't care for Christmas. Just more means more commitments and use of my time. Traffic and the way people get around Christmas is also fairly annoying and disappointing.

I only buy gifts for my mom and wife. Wife and I have a $20 limit. Brother and I quit awhile ago.

Online shopping is convenient for us guys but women hate it.
