'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

word on the street is that since the re-commitment of OL David Dawson over the weekend, this puts Michigan in an even more favorable spot to land him and might be enough to push him over the edge in Michigan favor.

that plus the fact that he's set to commit at the AA game on Jan 5th and recruiting is in the dead period now until Jan 3rd, UT won't have much time to get any last minute work in

um, no

If anything, the return of Fulton and James are monumental in Green's recruitment. We kept Graham, unlike Auburn and Green even requested CBJ to be at his home visit. Not sure how Michigan's O-line is as good as ours.

I think Tiny's sentiments towards Green were enough. If a predicted first round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft says, "I want you to come here so I can block for you", I would be enthralled.

No Michigan O-Lineman to any one's knowledge has struck Green that way.

Did Tiny say that to Green?

Ut has gotten plenty of time in. Dont see the OL committment outweighing what mom and family wants.

A quick look at CBJ's up-tempo version of a spread "O"...
2010 = 57% Rushing attempts
2011 = 56% Rushing attempts
2012 = 57% Rushing attempts
Good balance w/ an edge to the running gm.

If it's a street in Michigan, I'm not buying.

delusional fans need not apply

obviously you know something that is different than the words coming out of his own mouth so you could be right

considering this OL commit has become really close friends with him, M has the top OL class this year and NFL caliber OL players already, and UT brought in 0 OL last year and only 3 so far coming next year, i would see his mother wanting him to have the best chance of success pretty high up there too.

Oh plus telling Rivals many times over that UM is his leader

Guy, OUR ENTIRE LINE is NFL. The ENTIRE line will be drafted. Are you delusional?

Quote where Derrick Green has a relationship with a current Michigan O-lineman. Waiting....

It's not like Tennessee doesn't have offensive linemen. We may have the best oline in the country next year plus the not signing any ol last year didn't really matter because we signed a ton of them the two years before.

going in the 7th round or free agency doesn't quite fill one with confidence plus that even makes the point even more, one year behind a supposedly NFL caliber line or 3-4 years behind a top line. plus never said a current Michigan O-lineman, i said commit

Dawson endeared himself to U-M fans as he took on the role of recruiter of uncommitted prospects. He developed a close relationship with top-rated running back Derrick Green, and there is no doubt that Dawson helped push Michigan to the forefront of Green's list, where it continues to sit.

Maize-N-Brew: David Dawson commitment proves Brady Hoke's policy works | Michigan Wolverines | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

David Dawson had this to say about one of the top remaining prospects:

Derrick Green: "That's my homeboy. I talk to him pretty much every day; as a matter of fact, I talked with him earlier today. We (Michigan) have a really good chance with him, no doubt about it. I'll be looking forward to seeing him at the BBQ in a few weeks".

i'm talking about the fans, not all, that are told something they don't want to hear/believe and will still swear it's a trick and they're right and the person that is making the statements is wrong, i.e. the Jon Gruden debacle

Noone knows what is really going to happen. Everything is speculation to this point. His family plans to relocate wherever he chooses to play ball. Could be Michigan, could be Tennessee, could be any school at this point. UM can dream and so can UT. No amount of debating is going to help either way. Which Head Coach is the best salesman will, be the ultimate factor.

don't get me wrong i'm not bashing the O-linemen now nor the ones coming next. i don't know a thing about the backup OL, only what info is out there in recruiting databases, which shows 8 the 2 years prior combined with a 3.5* avg. not saying they're good/bad/middling, just using the info i have at hand on the interwebs

thank you, this is the only point i was trying to make, throw in the scuttlebutt from the Michigan side of things and all the sudden holy Lord i might as well be a bammer by saying things that people don't want to hear

All of our starters on the o line will be drafted. I appreciate the links. I like to read all sides when it comes to recruiting. However I'll take Hubbs against anyone. He says we're tied with Michigan and mom likes TN. We like our chances as much as you probably like yours. Best of luck.
