We kill innocent children pretty much daily with drone bombs. Are these deaths as tragic as the killings at Newtown? Does 1 dead Arab child = 1 dead American child in your mind?

Why or why not?

They are just as tragic.

Life is life. One death is based on national security. One is based on hate. Thats how its rationalized

One is a deliberate assault with the children as the targets, the other is a tragic consequence of war.

It's tragic when anyone innocent dies, doesn't matter their age, race or religion. Obama has used drone strikes more in his 1st term than bush did in 8 years. Majority of these were CIA covert ops in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia...doesn't seem to bother him though. He stands at his podium with his teleprompter telling the country what a tragedy it is,...blah, blllaahhh.

I fail to see how murdering children by drone improves our national security. I think it makes us more prone to see retaliation by terrorists.

How does murdering Arab children improve national security?

So you are saying the US military is targeting the children only?

Follow-up question...if the death of an arab child is just as tragic as the death of an American, why do we treat one differently than the other?

Obviously we are in America, so an American death is going to get more media, but I'm talking about our reaction upon hearing the news. It seems like when people hear the news of American children dying they find tears of empathy in no time. When people hear the news of Arab children dying they find excuses to rationalize why it's justified/necessary.

I don't care what their target is. I care about the result. The path to hell is paved with good intentions. It seems we mostly kill innocents with our drones. We'll get one terrorist, and kill 20 innocents or something.

We only hear about the innocent deaths. Guilty deaths are far more.

Where do you get this from? We don't really hear much about any of it. When was the last time you turned on the news and heard a body count of the innocent? They only talk about the terrorists we nab. You think they're talking about anything else on Fox News?

No difference between a child being killed in Connecticut and a child killed in the Middle East

I would like to see where you are getting your numbers from that the innocents/children are mostly what they hit. It is tragic subject but you are posting generalities.

How old are you? Don't mean to insinuate your age would discount your opinion but it might explain a few things for me.

If a drone attack is succesful in that we remove said target, then we never hear about it. When we blow up a target and a civilian dies, al Jazeera tv plasters it everywhere and we are made known. My earlier post is based on my observations and no facts. Could be completely wrong, but I do venture to say far more combatants have been killed then civilians.

I have between 5,000 and 6,000 articles and reports on every drone strike that has taken place in Yemen since 2002 that say you are flat out wrong.

The percentage of killed known terrorists to civilians is abhorrent.

But one is living in a combat zone and one is not. I see both sides of the argument fwiw

The children are not choosing to live in the combat zone. The children do not choose their parents. DoD and the CIA know that a certain number of children will be killed throughout their operations, and they proceed.
