I forgot who I quoted the other day but I'd gladly trade Charlie Strong for Tom Jurich

That is interesting. After the mess at Michigan, I'd prefer we don't go with Rich Rod.

Pelini is interesting. I'd be okay with him, but I'm not completely sold on him yet. I like that he wants to run the ball, but for a defensive coach his defense this year wasn't great.

I'd be happy with a lot of coaches still out there: Butch Davis, Taggart, Roman, R. Morris, Nolan, McDaniels, Petrino, and Ray Horton. Some names that I could live with are Smart, Butch Jones, Tuberville, Golden, Pellini, and Briles.

They had 2 terrible terrible games in Ohio State & Wisconsin, but overall their defense is ranked 15th in the nation.

I don't think Butch Jones is a bad hire at all. He lost head to head to Charlie Strong by 3 points. He also beat some teams that Strong lost to (Syracuse and UCONN) and he also beat Virginia Tech. His recruiting class is ahead of Strong's this year also. I know he doesn't have SEC ties but he seems as logical as Strong.

Kiffin was hired before Cheek became Chancellor, Martin became Provost around May 2009. Hart couldn't hire someone like Davis if he wanted too. You think these coaches are just making things up? You think Strong was basically begging for this job(while not being interested in ark or aub) and after some research decided no for no reason? Hart is severely handicapped by those two idiots, believe what you want. We're gonna end up hiring someone like Butch Jones and hope for the best. Cheek continues to say he will do what is necessary to help get football healthy again. People will say he gave back 18 million to the athletic side, that was awful nice, people forget over 100 million was given to the academic side from football alone in a 10-12 year stretch.

that was me on jurich - he is as good an AD as you can find

also happen to 100% agree on rich rod

hart still has time to right the ship though - getting turned down isn't the end of the world as long as in the end you make the right call - it is tough not to lose patience with this though

Knoxville radio guy Will West just reported he's hearing from sources inside the AD that Gruden is back in play.

I make fun of the "bring Fulmer back!" people, but I'd honestly rather have Fulmer back than freaking RichRod or Butch Jones.

I think they just need to get rid of Cheek. Then UT can make a solid hire.

hmmm - so academics that let in Ophillips when florida wouldnt and also let in CP are keeping us from succeeding

but Stanford can go get Harbaugh?

this is an excuse not a reason - many AD's have done much more with much less - we need Hart go out, compete and win - period

UT is a great job and a great AD at UT would be able to get a great candidate - simple as that
