He's not worth that

The Louisville AD must have told Strong "You have our full support to win national titles here. There is no need for you to return to the SEC to win championships."

Then they show up with the check book. Hard to overcome.

Yep, and unlike Hart he proved it. He did what it took to keep Strong.

Strong went from being very ecstatic about the job yesterday to turning down the job tonight. His new contract with Louisville will be announced this week we hear and noway was Tennessee going to match that offer anyway. Strong made a lot of calls today in regards to cheek and not sure if that factored in to his decision or not. One thing i do believe factored in to his decision was he would not be allowed to bring or hire any assistant that is being investigated by the ncaa. The information came straight from DB, i will not spell his name out for you.
Yesterday evening his plan was to address his team today then come to Knoxville. DB also said that Strong is the only coach that has been offered up to this point, meaning yesterday evening, which means Gundy did not have an offer from Tennessee. Also heard Hart was not very impressed with fedora.

I think when all the details come out about this, some people will be very upset with some of the old money boosters, i will not tell the reason because i don't want to go down that road, but it will get out at some point. Hart ignored them and went after his man anyway, Kudos to Hart for that.

Skeeter, I read where Cheek interviewed Strong instead of Hart. If this is true, why?

I quit UT football

Fedora better not even be a thought right now, either Hart comes with someone big(peterson or Patterson) or he better just pack his stuff and GTFO of town NOW.

Can't believe Strong turned us down. Does he not realize that after winning a NC at Tennessee he would be making double his extension at Louisville? Really stupid decision.

Obviously the boosters still haven't moved on from Gruden.

At this point, I think we should probably take Jim Mora Jr. UCLA can't match what we will pay him and he has worked wonders with that team so far. He also has that NFL pedigree that our boosters seem so enthralled with.

or and for the record I don't mean Petrino or Tressel, I don't want someone that will get us the Death Penalty and the few wins they did here get won't count anyway.

So now what??

We may have seen the best days of TN football 6 yrs. ago. If they don't get rid of cheek we will never be the UT of old.

42-24 in his career, gave USM their best season ever, nine points away from going 11-1 in his first year at UNC. Tennessee could do way worse at this point.

Hart wasn't impressed with Fedora apparently, so that leaves us with Mountain West Conference coaches to pull.

Skeeter, do we got to Petrino and Tressel now or what?

We better not, can't seem more desperate than basically saying we don't care if we get the death penalty, we just want to win, even if they won't count a year after were shut down.

I had also heard that we could have had Strong days ago but Hart spent a little too much time with Gundy? Is that it Skeet?

He was there yes. People blaming Hart for this stuff have no clue to the real issues. He can only do so much. As much as i wanted Strong as our next coach, noway Hart should have matched UL, which he could have. He may end up being a hof coach for all we know, but hes not worth that much right now.
