Recruiting Forum: Football Talk II

There was confidence tonight and that confidence has turned to real surprise for Tennessee after Louisville head coach Charlie Strong called athletics director Dave Hart to tell him he was declining Harts offer to be his head coach.

With rejections from Strong and Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy on Wednesday, Tennessee is reshuffling the deck and is back to ground zero on their search for a new head coach.

It has been thought that they would turn to North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora. And they likely will. However sources close to Fedora and the North Carolina situation aren't convinced that Fedora would take the job. He's obviously the first name to watch.

After that, it's anyone's guess right now as Tennessee is scrambling to restart a search that they thought was concluded on Wednesday night.

David Climer says that he thinks that our next head coach will be Phillip Fulmer. He was dead serious.

Ok if Fedora says no, doesnt that stick to every Grudinite prophecy.

LOL.

Get this overwith. I am here for the long haul.

Oh and going to see who he hires, but otherwise fire Dave Hart.

You starting to believe, buffaloblue? We've been trying to let all of our recruiting forum friends in on the epic hiring that is about to take place, but no one wants to listen. It's about time for Hart to play his role in this masterpiece. Enjoy the ride, folks! Great times are ahead very soon!

Serious question. Any truth to rumor that UT will interview Petrino?

Who knows, but it will not matter. He would just decline us to take the Southern Miss job or any other job that's out there. But I am sure its all part of the great Dave Hart's plan to bring in Gruden.

Just makes me sick! Arky can go out and pull a pretty darn good coach from a major BCS program and we can't even pull one from Louisville!

God hates TN.

You must be abusing your Nitrous Oxide.

Haha. I really don't think I'm going to get back on here until I see an ESPN report. No point in following this thing anymore. Going to be another 5 days.

Opposing AD asks prospective coach "surely you don't think you'll get a fair shake at Tennessee, they ran a hall of fame coach out of time afterall. They will want a NC in two years." The only way to right this karma is bring Fulmer back. But I am a modified Fulmer proponent. Keep the present O staff minus TE coach plus Tee. Let Chavis be. Let Phil have a chance at a new coordinator with a healthy budget. We are into the 2nd tier options. We keep the fire power that gave O new blood, get a rejuvenated Fulmer, clear bad karma, and let Tennessee tradition mold the defense.

Please just stop, you do not offer other coaches a contract when you already have a coach in place. There is no Gruden contract or MOU or whatever.

So in this "smokescreen" Hart is pis*ing off fanbases, wasting other coaches time, parking planes off runways, and putting himself in a position to be hung from the gay street bridge all to be the hero in the end? This is your story? Alrighty then.
