I'm loving the Gruden to Oakland talk. No way in hell that happens. I'm sure he would love to give Oakland one last F'U sandwhich when he turns them down for a college job in TN.

I'm probably just reading into this, but one, he can't be talking about going to Oakland because of tampering rules.

But...has he been talking to Reggie McKenzie (former Vol) who is the General Manager at the Raiders???

I tell you, if it is Strong, and I hope it isn't, it kind of ticks me off that the guy is wavering on whether to stay at Louisville or come to Tennessee. I question his decision making ability already.

If he should come to the SEC, he better bring some extra time outs in his pocket. He will need them for time to make decisions.

By the way, will Bruin say that he doesn't want him now, because he does not want to be a Vol...same said about Gruden

Breaking:

Charlie Strong hires Bob LaMonte as his agent. Sources say Vols are in fantasy land thinking they could hire strong. Bob LaMonte has not spoken with Hart until a call this morning. They cleared things up.

If true, I do not look for Petrino untill at least Monday afternoon....I have seen the girls gone wild vids.....and don't tell but I think Jake is filming it

I could be mistaken..My source is usually solid, but anything is possible..

It may actually be the Jake gone wild crew instead.....:p

Oakland is a mess of a franchise with a horrible quarterback situation, lacking in upcoming draft picks, and has a fan base that largely hates Gruden for leaving.

Highly, highly doubtful there's any credence to this rumor. He's had much, much more attractive opportunities than the scrap heap that is the Raiders

Considering Strong said during his presser that "Charlie Strong represents Charlie Strong" ...

Haha, Yes. I know this isn't his contract agent... But he does have a Speaking agent. Therefore he has an agent..

Keep Calm and Grude On!!
SOON!!!

Charlie Strong is just playing us for a raise, it's pretty clear if what the media reported was true (big if with this circus).

How many times do you hear a coach saying "My interview went really well...I feel really good about my interview"? He only said that to put UL on the hot seat and basically say hey if you don't pony up UT is going to grab me up.

Now he's torn between both schools? Come on give me a break. He's just pumping UL for another new contract which they just gave him one last year.

If Strong stuff is true people need to look at what we are doing.. We are officialy in a bidding war with Louisville, just let that sink in a minute

Yep, just like I put my .99 cent bid in on ebay to get it started, then when the next guy comes in at $1.08, I lose interest...

Jon Gruden may be committed to sticking with ESPN as an analyst instead of taking the head coaching job at Tennessee. But does that mean he’s committed to stay at ESPN instead of taking a head coaching job in the NFL? Although Gruden just recently shot down rumors that he was headed to college football’s coaching ranks, he’s already in the middle of discussions about the Oakland Raiders’ head coach job, according Pro Football Weekly, as reported by Dan Bernstein of WSCR in Chicago. Dan Bernstein @dan_bernstein . @Hub_Arkush of @ProFootballWkly just told @Boers_Bernstein that Jon Gruden and the #Raiders are in talks to bring him back to Oakland. 4 Dec 12 Reply Retweet Favorite The Raiders are once again near the bottom of the AFC West, having gone 3-9 this season. With more than a half-dozen NFL teams likely looking for a coach next season, Gruden will be in high demand — if he’s willing to coach. What makes the Oakland speculation even more interesting, of course, is that Gruden coached there before a contentious split with former owner Al Davis. Gruden went 38-26 in four seasons with the Raiders and won the AFC West twice, including 2000, when Oakland went as far as the AFC championship game. But Gruden left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a complicated trade after butting heads with Davis, incurring the wrath of Raiders fans. New owner Mark Davis, Al’s son, is reportedly not pleased with the direction of the team and is willing to bring Gruden back. If he did, though, it would involve stepping on general manager Reggie McKenzie‘s toes. McKenzie makes most of the personnel decisions (a power Gruden has had when he’s coached before), and the Raiders’ current head coach, Dennis Allen, was picked by McKenzie and has had less than a year to show what he can do. Oh, and did we mention that Gruden said he’s committed to staying with Monday Night Football?
