I would think Auburn might be better off moving on from Taylor with the NCAA probing around right now.

just curious since jones plays the same teams as strong and has the same record outside their game against each other which went to overtime - why do you prefer one so much over the other?

recruiting ability?

Recruiting is a big part of the reason I like Strong more. A red flag I have with Jones is that he's followed Kelly at both jobs. Obviously, Kelly has proven how good of a coach he is this season and can build a team. Jones has been in easier situations following Kelly than a lot of coaches.

that's legitimate - Cincy is such a hard place to recruit to though it's tough to get a read on what a cincy coach might do elsewhere - at Lville the facilities, area, fanbase, etc are much more attractive

i kind of just want this to be over so i can move on with my life :)

Strong. Needs an OC
Fisher. Needs OC and DC
Gundy. Needs DC
Fedora. Needs DC

I keep hearing arguments for the above coaches with the caveats that they would need to find a good____to bring with them. I ask you...If he could have _____why doesnt he have ____already? I like Strong basically because we have an explosive offense right now, add a strong (pun intended) defense and we are cooking with grease.

No inside sources or anything of the kind but it would not surprise me if Hart has Fisher and Smart as his top 2 regardless of what he said in his press conference. If Smart, Hart could simply say no one with all the qualifications he was looking for was available and Kirby Smart was the best available.

Follow along. The argument is their assistants (currently) would need to be replaced because they are not up to par. My question is....Why dont they have competent assistants already?

I watched Jones get throughly out-coached by Derek Dooley..........Do I need to really go into Strong's recruiting ability or was No.1 reason enough? :)

the more i think about it i have warmed up a little to strong - les miles has won big w/o being a great game manager so maybe the recruiting/motivation/development side is just as important as being a good in-game coach

if strong can really excel in that phase and i think he would at UT then he may be able to overcome some of his other faults

I can't exactly explain why, but I just have this gut feeling that Hart is going to surprise everyone. Something just doesn't add up with the way he's going about this search.
