Petersen to be named new coach Tuesday

By Andy Hodges on December 1, 2012 | HOG COUNTRY

The announcement that Boise State coach Chris Petersen will be the Hogs’ next coach is expected to come Tuesday.

The long-awaited announcement for Arkansas fans should come Tuesday.

But don’t be surprised if there’s another smokescreen or two along the way.

As of Saturday evening, multiple sources have said that Boise State coach Chris Petersen is expected to be named the new Razorbacks coach Tuesday. Considering the Hogs will play Oklahoma in basketball that evening at Bud Walton Arena, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could be formally introduced to the fans then

I think that site reported a few days ago that their recruits had been told Petersen was the new head guy.

Other sites came out later with quotes from recruits saying they hadn't been told anything.

Trolling in the extreme, IMO.

A poster on VQ said Bo Pelini has a $270,000 buyout at Nebraska. If that's true I really don't understand why Hart won't give him a interview. 49-18, 3 10-win seasons, playing in his 2nd conference title game tonight, won his conference division 3 out of 5 years at Nebraska. His defenses are consistently good/great at NU. He likes running the football & can develop talent. I've been saying for weeks that I thought Pelini should be our guy, but of the names being mentioned as candidates I'll gladly take Strong.

He would be in over his head, not a good choice!!

The year before Strong took the job at UL they were 4-8, from '07-'09 they went 15-21. Year 3 of the Strong era UL is 10-2, Big East Champs & playing in a BCS bowl.

Back in January 2007 Petrino left in the middle of a Jan. night to take the Falcons job, UL had to scramble to hire Kragthorpe to save the recruiting class, he went 15-21 in 3 years as HC. Insert Strong.

In January 2009 Lane Kiffin left in the middle of a Jan. night, Tennessee scrambles to hire Dooley who went 15-21 in 3 years as HC. Insert Strong?

W-o-w. Definition of coincidence.
