Im officially on the Charlie Strong bandwagon. Just think he will energise fanbase more then Fisher. Plus I think Strong would keep Graham and Fisher would bring in Eddie Gran.

I get the impression that Strong would be a hire that would unify a lot of the lettermen.

Am I crazy for thinking that?

Might not mean that much, but given that so many of them are more visible and vocal (either through social media, or traditional media), it could be pretty beneficial for them to provide a unified front.

It would unite the current players as well. They all love Coach Strong.

i saw where Gran is a candidate for the Southern Mississippi job

Taking off the Orange tinted glasses wanting to see a coach from the Tennessee Coaching tree: Strong, Gruden, Shaw all solid hires.

Can't stand the Franklin love any longer. I have so much freaking work to do right now, but I can't resist:

Franklin in two years:

Vs ranked opponents 0-6 (.00)
Vs unranked opponents (14-5) (.64)
Vs teams with winning record 0-10 (.00)
Vs teams 500% 1-0 (1.00)

Dooley in 3 years:

Vs ranked opponents 0-15 (.00)
Vs unranked opponents 15-6 (.60)
Vs teams with winning record 4-20 (.20)
Vs teams 500% (before bowl game) 2-1 (.66)

Why in the name of all that is good and holy are people so adamant about Franklin? Look at the facts people!

I really hope we can get to the point where we can do what Alabama is doing right now. Just line up and say "We are going to run the ball right at you and there is nothing you can do about it."

I hate Bama, but this is some great smashmouth football.

What 'Bama is doing to UGA right now is what Tennessee use to do to teams. That's SEC football. Line up w/ 2 TE's & run it down the opponents throat. Man do I wish we could get back to that kind of football.

I really want an OC who is dedicated to running that ball. I just don't see that being Chaney. He is too pass-happy and predictable, IMO. It sounds like White or White and Gonzales would be a good fit with Strong and they would run the ball.

Right now the SECCG is a perfect example of why you're right about the dedication to running the ball. Love Chaney as a person, and he's a very good OC, but I think he's much better suited to a league where the aerial attack works better.

That said, maybe it was personnel. Who knows what our run game would've looked like this year had we signed Yeldon last year.
