Slice, why so much love for Strong? Louisville is currently ranked in the high 60's by Scout on recruiting. His success has come in an extremely weak conference. He lost to Syracuse and UConn. I just don't see a sure thing there. Yeah, he has better credentials than Dooley did, but most coaches do. What about Strong makes you believe he's the next big thing? I'm not trying to trash the man, but why should I feel confident if he becomes UT's next HC? Why should I not feel let down by the AD if Strong is the best we can get? I really would like to know why you are so high on him. What is it I'm not seeing?
I have no problem with skin color. It wouldn't matter if he was neon green if he could guarantee us a return to relevance. I'm just not sold that he's the one. Meh, I guess I just want to be more confident that this hire will succeed. I'm tired of sucking and losing. I want to be a relevant team again. Strong might well be a great coach, but I just don't see him as proven.
As for making a BCS bowl this year, isn't that because the Big East champ is automatically given a spot? I don't think highly of the Big Least, so if that's the case, it just doesn't impress me. As bad as we were, I think we could have competed for the BE championship.
Who you do you want to hire Weezer?
After Gruden, the name that stuck out the most to me was Dan Mullins. He rebuilt a sorry Miss St team into a team good enough to be ranked. Yeah, it wasn't an overnight thing, but he has the whole rebuild an SEC team been there done that vibe. At least his success was in our conference. But I hear he's off the list now.
At this point, I just expect a hire I'll have no faith in. Hopefully whoever it is will prove me wrong and take us back to glory, but the past few years have crushed my confidence. I'm just so tired of losing. We went from being contenders to being the punchlines of awful jokes. It sucks.

Gruden isn't coming. Tell me who Dan Mullins has beat at Mississippi State. I'll give you a hint. It's similar to the list of teams that James Franklin and Derek Dooley have beaten.
