Official Jon Gruden Thread XIV

not believing that some still insist this is all for show and a done deal. That's just stupidity, tbh.

Gruden decided he didn't want to chase 18 yr olds around and be strapped by an ncaa rulebook and other limitations.

Can't say I blame him.

Actually it could be just this simple

Bruin, they wouldn't have to. All they would have to do is say the problem is on Gruden's end. We just couldn't come to terms with him.

And that would be perceived by fans in what way??

They are damned if they do damned if they don't. They have to stay silent about it. They can't win either way

It certainly could be a CYA especially considering this was told to a person that is a high level donar. I believe it matches with everything we have heard here and is an explanation for why the OGs thought this was done but it certainly doesn't have to be the full truth

The AD (for perception to its base) has to explain why they missed. Putting it all on Grudens end (which is what you expect to hear) will be the way the story is told.

They just hope everybody buys it.

I'd say for most people it is more hope than belief at this point.

I hear you, but why would there be the reason for a stall? Does he have something he needs to wait on, because I don't think the Tampa Bay money is an issue. (See Cliff notes)

The only thing that makes sense to me is the MNF contract. If not, I don't know of any other reason he would be stalling (unless he wasn't really interested which I personally don't believe).

I'm not sure how our fans would have perceived it but a hell of a lot better than what we are hearing now!

He can't do that it would tell every candidate to ask for the same money. We are better with hart being able to say to candidates privately that gruden was nt affordable but that doesn't need to be said publicly

Jovan Belcher of the chiefs. Pioli and Crennel were trying to calm him down and he shot himself in front of them. Horrible news

Something just hit me....I saw a tv ad for "The Dark Knight Rises" which stars Jon Gruden. The game is not released until Tuesday and he states something to that effect in the ad. Is it possible that that promo is what could be holding this up?

They would claim the 18mil was meant for that and we have bigtime donars to pay the rest. The same thing being said by many now

Still go back to what Tony has been saying for weeks and that is "this thing isn't locked up like a lot of people think. Hart is a wildcard. He could go his own way".

I really fear some may kill thereself when another coach is announced!!

Guys..and Gals...honest question...is there an AD on the planet that wouldn't close the deal with Gruden if they had a realistic chance? Consider your answers carefully.

Rhetorical question, as in I already knew my answer before you asked. :)

Out of likes Lex but I love it!

Gotcha covered. :)

If only I had the Peyton Gif for his Buick commercial I would play it for you.

I will wait until a coach is named other than Gruden. Still think timing was an issue but the events that happened yesterday were out of the blue. More questions than answers now and it should not be this way.
