But if he was coming do you have enough info to make you think he probably won't now?

Do you think he could do that to Peyton, Haslam, more importantly Peyton..

Could he let the message be "the Vols were dreaming" thinking they could get me and not burn some serious bridges with Peyton and, hell, his wife?

That's the thing. If I knew what went wrong, I might be able to answer that more specifically. But I've still not heard what happened. I'm trying to find out. If I do, I'll tell you guys.

As to the agent stuff -- I read that as typical denial speak. Maybe fantasy was a strong word, but that's just because we are all a bit emotionally connected to this thing.

The "Blood Bath" occurred on Wednesday between AD and BTB (Big Time Boosters). I'm not sure that they can be repaired. It will be interesting so see how much financial support will be offered to the next candidate.

If that's the case then Hart just might as well pack up now

Eh, boobs is boobs at this point. :)

I get it...I really do understand if he truly feels that way.

Hell if I were in his position I might feel the same...

The problem I have with this is the way it has been left (i.e., "fantasy land"). If I had close personal ties to this football community (which he does), there's no way in HELL I would leave it that way, especially knowing how much we BLEED orange here.

I find that odd too. I mean official statements HAVE to be thought out in advance, right? that just seems like a low blow to the ut fanbase.

There is just so much more to all of this than we realize. I think there is something amiss and part of it could be the payment to to JG by TB. I understand needing to give the illusion that there is no interest on his part but do not understand the insulting way in which it was done. This leads me to believe it was his agent who came up the "you all were in a fantasyland" thing. I just don't believe that JG would be that harsh. And that makes me think there still could be hope for TN but that's just my opinion and the only thing that makes sense to me. If you're not interested, you don't have to insult us..... just say you're not interested and move on.:unsure:

Why would JG allow his agent to say such things? Does he not review or talk to his agent before he opens his mouth to the press?? I mean talk about image damaging. :dunno:

I emailed a few folks on here with something I was told today and they seemed to agree that it was spot on with what they know. I have been in these threads since Gruden II and never heard a thing out of of anybody on the outside. I walk in to work and what was relayed to me was absolutely sickening.

What were you told...and what did they say, share it all or don't share..:p

Can someone please pull a Cousin Eddie and get Hart delivered to one of the OGs homes to get this s@#t straightened out? And I want the bow on his head. I have been following since Gruden I and think the OGs deserve a large showing of respect, gratitude and continued support. Do not let these johnny come latelys bring you down. Full steam ahead, and I am all in til the OGs are out!

This is why it was critical to Hart to get the $18M from Cheek. At that point he could do what he wanted, Boosters be damned.

If so the BOT or whoever should fire him with cause for further ruining this athletic program.

I Think this needs to be done now or never.

I dont know that for sure, just hearing bits here and there and trying to put them together. I do not believe Gruden ever had a contract in front of him from Tennessee, im sure boosters talked money with him though.

No sh!t. He basically told Peyton Manning he was in fantasy land too.

Where is the term fantasy land coming from?

"The agent for former NFL coach Jon Gruden said reports that his client had received an offer from Tennessee were from a “fantasy world” and that Gruden had no interest in the Vols’ head coaching job.

“I haven’t said anything (about the ongoing rumors) because there’s been nothing to say,” said Bob LaMonte, the Reno, Nev.-based representative for Gruden. “This, to me, is just a fantasy world.”

LaMonte said he spoke to Tennessee Athletic Director Dave Hart for the first time this morning."
