Money was to be for homerun hire. That is the "pool" intent. The way stuff went down in TB ,Gruden wants to drain every drop. I asked the other day about pay out schedule because they always follow the terms of deal. If the 1st. is payoff date makes sense all the posturing coming out. No talk and then Hargis breaks story , agent speaks in the tone he did...c'mon man! Smells funny huh...stinks to high heaven!

I can only assume so as to leave no doubt and make continued speculation look like "fantasy land" from Grudenville. It does make sense in a double secret damnit why am I doing this again Effin way.

Absolutely agreed. That's why I think he'll figure it out in the end and this will drag on for a little longer. The one bit of leverage he still holds that's allowing him room to explore this behavior is that he could resign. Needless to say, that would leave UT in quite a lurch. I think that's why the $$$ haven't seriously threatened to pull the trigger on his job yet - but many donors are ready to after the news they've been getting. I know it's their decision in the end, but I think they're allowing him to explore his negotiating strategy and if he saves them a little money, then great - if not, they still get their guy and everything works out.

Is there a rehab anywhere out there yet for Grudenholics? If not, we really need to organized a GA (Grudenholics Anonymous) group to meet a few times a week. I can't get enough of this stuff, even if it does seem to be dead....

I love East Tennessee and the University of Tennessee however I do not feel this job is right for me at this time. Thank you."

I did my tour of the football facilities today. The word from folks that I had talked to was that the construction team Wednesday were told to be prepared to take off Friday afternoon. They didn't have an idea why other than speculation.

I still think something was going to happen today and didn't for whatever reason.

Funny thing, we walked by the recruiting office and had a good laugh because we saw a guy with blonde hair that could have looked like Gruden at a glance.

You are correct Oldvol75. Thats why most universities including UT pay coaching buyouts on a monthly basis even if they have the money on hand to pay it in full. Usually if the fired coach gets a new position the monthly payment is reduced or voided all together based on the their new salary. CDD's buyout was donated by boosters but is being paid out monthly.

I honestly have told myself all day that I wouldn't get "re-involved" in the Gruden is coming to UT... but I somehow just cannot stop reading...

the only way I see either of those situations being true is this:

What if our "insiders" and the few media outlets who reported that there had been no actual contact between UT and Gruden were the same people? What if those few people had really bad information and in fact no contact has been made?

In that context, all of this would make total sense.

At this point, it is actually easier for me to believe that we have been given really bad information (although probably in good faith) than to think that the negative media reports that have been swirling, the vast majority of the media, were just flat out wrong.

Just a possibility.

Alright....for most of us you have to start to quesion the sanity here, the delusion level and what is real anymore. People keep throwng out "boosters" but not specifically which ones. Or that Peyton "supports this" without mentioning how they would even know he was involved. The one thing that I am certain of, is even if there was a deal, alot of crazy info on these threads is BS, both for and against it having ever happened....What do we really know and why? Not just because some mystery handle name on here said so.....
