Hahahaha what makes you believe this nonsense? Why isn't Arkansas after him hardcore then? Or Auburn? I personally think Franklin would do well at Cal.

Franklin MAY be a good coach, but he has done nothing but beat teams that suck, IMO. Jury is out, and I sure as heck do not want to roll dice with him.

I love Strong. Get Ellis Johnson to come along as his DC and ill be doing a happy dance.

But , after getting my hopes up for Gruden, I refuse to get caught up on a coach again.

Ellis is his own man and Charlie would want his hand on "his" D. Much like Muchamp and Saban.

Look can I just be real honest here with my fellow fans?

There really is no sense in being mad at Hart and here is why:

1. We really dont know the details. Hard to be mad at someone when you do not know the details. WE can assume a lot but at best it is just assumption so we need to be fair in our perspective.

2. For those who cant settle on #1, then look at it this way - all issues like money, staff, and power tossed aside...Gruden comes to TN as HC. 1 or even 2 years later an NFL job becomes available and Gruden goes NFL, which is where it appears his heart is focused...

Do you now have hard feelings at Gruden (like Kiffin) for leaving? Or do you trust Hart to get the right coach from day 1? Hart didnt hire Dooley but I am sure we would like to have that decision as a redo.

Very well said and I completely agree.

It can all be summed by abundant talent.

You know he recruited most of the defensive guys at South Carolina and Florida when he was at both schools. So I guess that abundant talent he's getting is on him. Because Spurrier and Meyer are brilliant offensive minded coaches.

Louisville's AD says he's not letting Strong go and will match any offer a school gives.

Do we still think we can get him?

that's been his achilles heel since his second year at DC for UF. He just doesn't interview well. Got the L'ville job bc of Meyer and SOS.

Agreed. However, I've seen some definite improvement in his public speaking and his press conferences. I think he's getting more comfortable with the process. I hate to get too excited but he's my guy behind Gruden. Since that got trashed I'm pulling for Chuck Strong.

Skeeter,

I've mentioned this too much at this point but would like to hear your take. My hangup on strong is him being passed over by his Alma mater, where he was a very successful DC, for another DC. I know this may be petty and in fact could be race related, which would be dumb, but it bothers me that he was passed over. What's your thoughts?

Nonsense? If you are knowledgable of the game as you present yourself, you know better than that. Franklin would have little interest in Arkansas and not in an Auburn program facing NCAA trouble.

For my part, I'll be happy when this coaching search is done. I trust they'll get the best guy they can and I'm sure he'll be really good. If the kind of money that was talked about with Gruden was even remotely true, we'll be fine.

I need a break from CFB guys. Once I see who wins the national championship this weekend between UGA and Bama and this coaching search is over, I'm out. Need a break.

Franklin isn't what UT needs to me. He's burned bridges with this fanbase that wouldn't be easily forgiven. He's also just a good "Vandy" coach. Fxck Him. Lol

UT> Louisville plain and simple. Strong would be a long-time hire for us IMO too.

To most people it's a no-brainer but the guy is beyond loyal...feels he owes L'ville AD and those players to stick around. The ACC jump makes it even harder for him to leave. Lots of pressure on CCS today.
