I understand that but this is a strange turn of events IMO. That's all I'm saying. :hi:
Jmoore, any names you would like to see considered for OC if Strong was hired?
Carlos, the guy that sent you the text. Would he know anything?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He texted me about it...never had real convo about OU before...just dont see why he would play around with it if there wasnt something going on.... I am still reserved about it...
Carlos, is the person who texted you someone who you trust or someone that is just pulling your leg?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The person who sent me the text is someone I can trust...now do I think they made it up...no...do I think something is going on...IDK....they wouldnt have a reason to share that with me....unless there may be a Tennessee twist to it.
The person did mention that by coaching in the SEC you could still lose a game and make it to NC game...and maybe some issues with OU boosters etc..they didnt elaborate on anything else...
No not really, all I know is I want Tennessee to stay away from the Spread offense & throwing it around 60-70 of the time.
To consistently win the SEC you HAVE to run the football, control clock, & play great defense. Thats why I'm against Gundy & Fedora. Give me a power, physical, disciplined football team. It starts w/ building a big time defense (ex LSU, Alabama, UGA, UF), then get a solid/good OL w/ a power RB & run it down teams throats.

I guess I wouldnt mind an offense like Chip Kelly's or Gus Malzahn's that is built on on the run and playaction passing, but ultimately I agree. We need to run the ball, play defense, and win the battle at the line of scrimmage. The Air Raid and offense that pass all the time isn't going to work here.
I was just curious if you had any ideas on who a good OC might be.
He looks like he has a pretty solid background. I believe this is his first year with Pease so not sure what scheme he would run, but I really like Florida's offensive scheme right now.JAT but I could see Strong giving B White(UF RBC) another call if he lands at UT. Former OC and has strong connects in Ga, NC and Cali.
the only comparable one you have imo is mack brown at tulane - he was in a similar spot - the rest were in spots where the program was down and they were in a good conference so it takes longer to build - and i would also argue that mack brown is a very overrated coach
EDIT... also 7-3-1 at duke in the ACC, 8-5 in the big 12 and 6-6 in the big 10 are much better than 7-6 (6-6 regular season) in a terrible big east (that is comparing the 2nd years again)
