Franklin has done things in a similar academic situation and a fraction of the budget. He would be a HUGE upgrade over Dooley. He is going to win 9 games this year at Vandy. I prefer him to Strong or Fedora.

I think it is over. I hate it, but I think it is. I guess either of the Oklahoma boys would be alright. Leonard Little has convinced me Charlie Strong would be a good hire.

According to Hargis, Gruden wants to be our coach but assistant salaries is current issue. I don't believe that, but lends credence to the fact we're talking.

Dave Hart's ego doesn't matter one lick. You're telling me the Athletic Director is going to say no to 5 enormous boosters? Are you kidding me? They'll have him replaced in a heartbeat.

That leaves Gruden as the only ego to worry about. And if you believe Hargis' report, he wants to be here.

None of this makes sense when you look at it logically. None of it.

Smoke, all of it. Waiting for official release either way before I'll feel it definitively done.

I hear yeah man! I took the hit and spent 100 bucks a piece for tickets but I couldn't pass up the chance of seeing them play. I have not seen them play in person since the late 90's.

A Vol fan went to football hell.

The devil said to him "You have come to football hell, and you must now choose whether to spend the next 20 yrs in room 1, 2 or 3 if you would like your beloved Vols to be great again"

He then opened the doors to the three rooms.

Room 1 was filled with men standing on their heads, on a hard wooden floor.

Room 2 was filled with men standing on the heads, on a cement floor.

Finally, room 3 had just a few men, standing in crap up to their knees and drinking coffee.

The Vol fan thought for a while, and decided to go with room 3, as it was less crowded and they could drink coffee.

He entered the door to room 3 and just as it was closing behind him, the devil said "OK men, coffee break's over. Back on your heads.

Current feeling being a Vol Fan.

You may end up being right, but you might consider throwing in a "TIFWIW" after a post like that. I don't have a lot of posts either, but I haven't offered any insider info either. I, like all of the rest of us, can't know anything 100%. The only way anything is 100% is if you have seen the signed contract, or spoken to The Grude himself and heard him say no. Otherwise, any information is second hane and has to be taken with a grain of salt until an announcement is made from UTAD, or The Grude. I believe those that say it's on, but you could be right too. We will all find out one day.... wait for it....

The rumors I've heard is that Gruden is asking for somewhat over $11M total for him and his assistants ($6+ for him, $5M for assistants). That seemed OK to me at first, but then I took a moment from the frenzy and looked around. Check the link below to compare that amount with what the other top schools are paying.

USA TODAY Sports college football coaches salaries database

If this data is correct Gruden is asking for $2M over the top paying schools (Texas and Bama) and about double what Georiga and South Carolina are paying. Of course it's not my money, so what do I care, right? Still, seems a bit excessive, even slimy...

I have a lot doubt that Strong is interviewing for a job one day before his team has a game. If he was talking to UT it would be next week. He has better things to do right now.

2. We are still getting him from what I was just told
3. Stoops isn't stepping down today. He has a game tomorrow.
4. Anything coming out of Knoxville is smokescreen. Do not listen to anything Hubbs or Hyams says regarding Gruden.
5. Still thinking this finally goes down next week.
