Official Jon Gruden Thread XIII

I just want a press release from UT instead of a leak denying gruden

That would be nice and they could at least do that for us. Problem is they seem to be trying to figure out how to spin this in their favor right now. I don't think they expected some of the boosters and others to push this story with Hargis.

Negotiating is an art. Gotta wait for the other guy to blink, or make him blink. A lot of things go into negotiating a deal, especially one this big.

And you gotta know what you want before you begin. When you get what you wanted, you can hope the deal gets sweeter, but you gotta know when to agree.

And if you are negotiating a deal that is in the public eye, you gotta consider how things "look" to others.

And you really need a "poker face" to negotiate. Maybe some posters here need to work on their "poker face". Sometimes a good bluff works wonders. :)

Kiffin Sr worked for whom again... hmmmm... I cant remember who the last head coach in the NFL was he worked for... hmmmmm

It took him two weeks to get a "No thanks, not interested" out of Jon Gruden?? And it never even got as far as financial discussions?

What in the EFFFF has he been doing since Nov. 17th?? Sitting on his damn thumb?

Gruden should have been his first call, with a serious offer. You get that out of the way immediately. Either he will be interested or he will say no thanks. This should have been over a week ago.

Instead, Hart let it fester because, as many have stated, he is intimidated by the idea of having someone as big as Gruden working here because he would lose all power.

It is obvious that Hart wants to bring in someone he can control. Welcome Kirby Smart and welcome to the era where the Liberty Bowl would be a great season.

I don't believe for one second they haven't been talking finances.

Isn't this supposed to happen though? Isn't it all supposed to fall apart, and then Hart sweep in and save the day?

Face it people....look at the whole storyline....something smells bad.

Some of you are being played. I truly believe it. How can he come out and squash Arkansas, but not us? And you STILL have yet to see a named source say anything about it. Hubbs source was anonymous. Neither Hart nor Gruden have said anything.

If you can't smell the fishiness of this....check your nose.

If you think financial discussions never happened, then I don't know if we can have a real conversation.

Where is the thread that talks about all the other coaches that we KNOW have been interviewed or is ALL of this a vale of secrecy?

Can we just put on the table anyone we KNOW wants to wear Orange next September?

Is that you Dave Hart????

Yes it is. Will you tell your butthurt friends that calling my "office number" isn't going to get them anywhere. However, I do read every single fan-mail I receive so please continue posting those. I am continually amazed by the insight in some of those emails.

Guys I gotta go for a while... business called but will be back

It is shaky today............. but not over till it's over

Hyams says that there was never an offer
Rucker says that it's the college environment and money
Hubbs says a mix of the two
TFP says he has an offer but it's the assistant money
Low says what Hyams says...

I thought there were such things as journalism classes in college...incompetent people!

No because I just found out who one of his sources is. No I will not share and I do not care for e-cred so do not ask.

He had more than 1 but only 1 of those that he guaranteed to be right. Unless that 1 is the one you know, then it may not matter. Hargis appeared very credible.

Gruden does not want to coach again in college. If he did, this deal would be done. If you really want a job, you go for it. Gruden has become a huge prima donna--and he's an nfl guy. Let's offer a great package to an excellent college coach and get this done.

Source?

Seriously bro? His defense sucked, he almost got his sleevy son fired, and the snake fired him in return.

That pretty much sums it up.

David Copperfield will really make Neyland Staduium disappear. I found this out from one of his sources, and I'm not telling who. I will not share, so don't ask, but it's really going to happen. 100% No illusion!

:whatever:
