Lex,does your info match up with mine in this regard.

Tennessee is going to be activley interviewing other cadidates (and has in a couple cases) to gauge what is out there before a final attempt at an agreement with Gruden is attempted to be reached?

Or do you believe that no other candidates are really involved because Gruden is likely to come and we are just waiting for his timeline to announce it?

Im telling you! This has been what I have been saying all along!! He is scared! He has been offer so many jobs he is stuck in that is name is still above water the moment he take a job he has to go prove it. lol He is scared he won't be successful!!

I think some are reporting he did not try. Booster's can not hire folks for the University. Just threats to cut off money if you ignore my wishes. Sure Hart will get fired if his hire cant get it done in a few years. Dang maybe he'll get the right man to get it done. I know one thing not sure about recruiting after this saga and the new coach will have a big job turning it around.

Very true. I would say it's the strangest thing I've ever seen involving UT, by far. I have no doubt that the Hubbs info came straight from the AD's office with Hart's blessing, but I also have no doubt that at least part of it is false, or at least intentionally misleading. It makes it sound as though things never got to first base with Gruden and says financial issues were never discussed, and I know (personally not just based on the OG's here) that there have been discussions going on with Gruden for weeks if not months (those discussions may not have involved the AD directly so maybe that's their out, but that just makes the statement technically true but misleading). Now maybe things fell through and the way they're spinning it is just to try to make people avoid blaming UT or Gruden for getting close but not getting it done, but there are still a lot of very connected people who don't think things fell through. Very, very strange indeed.

You can look at my posts and know I have been all in since I came in. Thinking about going home sick from work and just lay in bed.

Things did not seem to work out and its on Gruden's end. Again I have had such faith that I can't completely let go and I am going to stick around and hope that his call is wrong or a smoke screen. But I doubt it.

This has been my bigges concern with reading and believing, All these "source's" that has been wrong everyday. Now Gruden say's no thank's, and even still some are saying "oh no mean's yes" "it's another smokescreen". Really? You know how many people are in jail because they don't have the sense to understand "no" mean's NO? So much for all the guarenteed 3 o'clock presser's where gruden was going to be announced. I hate to be negative, but I think the only source there ever was for gruden was our obsession in wanting him.

Kind of strange that TFP hasn't updated their article to reflect what Knoxville media has been told by their sources that Gruden says "no thanks".

If Gruden said no thanks, wouldn't you think this would have been stated in Gruden II or at least by VIII. Why let it linger to this point.

If you ask me, this thing has been done for awhile now. This is bigger than most of us think. JMO FWIW

I know why people are confused and it isn't because of the insiders on here. We have been hearing from Debbie Downer Hyams that there is no chance with Gruden. They haven't talked to him it's over.. Memphis puts out a statement. Suddenly, he cancels a meeting with Hart. Then CHattanooga puts out a statement that it's not over (and trust me, CFP is not going to post something on their front page without very good sources) and now KNoxville says that Gruden officially turned them down--- it's over. We need to get use to GOLDEN or some other crap coach.
