Well if that is the case, then personally, I would prefer they dish out that premium to someone that has been involved in coaching and winning a little more recently than 4 years ago. I don't think this search should be Gruden or bust.
No, they didn't. That's from Hubbs, not UT. It says, "per sources" in what Hubbs wrote. Where is the release from the university saying Gruden is out?
Of course the University isn't going to make a statement. Why would they have to? Have they yet at all to this point on any coaches? It sure seems that Gruden considered himself out of the UT coaching hunt.
There is no search committee. Hart is doing a lot of this on his own terms. Things are not going to be made public, i.e. press releases from the University.

Are you familiar with the term outlier and it's relevance in statistical analysis?
The 87-82 includes his time at Oakland
Charlie Strong.
I'd sign Strong every damn day that end in Y. I really hope they get it done. There are a lot of high profile candidates that are still possibilities. I'd take Fisher, Gundy, Strong, Patterson, or Stoops and be elated. I'm astonished that Gundy seems to be this interested in the job.
