The Gruden frenzy has been two parties at war in media, boosters want Gruden and Dave Hart doesn't. Contrasting leaks throughout process.

I don't believe that. Gruden isn't coming if he doesn't have the backing of the AD. If Gruden isn't coming then Hart doesn't have a job. It's pretty simple.

There isn't a "war" between the AD and boosters, there is however a dog and pony show evidently going on to fit Gruden's schedule. Whatever that may be.

One thing we have learned in all of this confusion: the Knoxville sports media is absolutely horrendous. I'm talking worst level of competence and journalism I've ever seen. Like, not even high school sports beat reporter level.

I don't know how you guys have put up with this schwill for so long

This makes sense. And, if true, Hart has to be terminated if Gruden is hired. Gruden cannot work for a boss who didn't want to hire him in the first place.

Also if true, Hart needs to go regardless of Gruden. I truly wonder if he has the best interests of UT at heart, his own or his alma mater's.

You know, it's really easy to fire a guy in a public forum, with limited to no knowledge of the details of the situation.

There have been scenarios leaked in other threads that indicate that Gruden has asked for quite a bit that is detrimental/dangerous to the U of T. Now, granted, I'm not saying that they're true. I'm just saying that they at least present hypothetical circumstances where the Gruden hire would be a bad decision.

I agree that, with the right contract in place, Gruden is a home run hire. I'm also of the opinion that no coach is worth a "get-him-at-all-costs, caution-be-damned" contract.

I hope we get Gruden with a contract that is beneficial to both parties. If we can't do that, I'll support Hart and the AD until I have enough information to lose that support.

I am pretty pissed because if it is over they need to get that out there so the new coach has a chance of acceptance. I was told PR is something they don't have time to worry about. Terrible approach IMO

That's the approach you take when you know you'll win the PR battle anyways, IE Gruden

That's because they have no idea what they are talking about. Hyams said this AM that a contract was never even offered to Gruden. I hate Hyams, like many of you, but it's arrogant to believe we know more about what's going on then him. After all, this is how he makes his living.
As a recruiter we usually send offer letters..When Hyams says contract he is right semantics by his source..being played imo Source says "he has never been givin a contract "..hyams oohh goody I will debbie downer this one right away"..Source says good he never asked if an offer letter was sent".....It is an offer letter with terms ..contract always comes later

Hargis is very legit. I have had contact with him over the years.

If TN doesn't get Gruden, then the university dropped the ball.
