Dear Dave Hart. Regardless of who is actually pulling the strings, the next coach at UT will be seen as your decision. Yours and yours alone. That coach will define your career at UT.

There will only be two responses to your choice.

1-How in the hell did UT get that guy?
2-Why in the hell did UT get that guy?

You better introduce a coach who will garner the first response. :hi:

I just perused the Gruden Cliff Notes and it looks like the Gru has "officially" declined.
In other news Monte Kiffin may now be in play.

Dan Patrick just referenced the sports animal and hyams in saying that gruden isn't coming. Thought Dan was better than that.

Is it possible Gruden just doesn't want to come but he was leading us on and is now trying to work more and more ridiculous demands in, but we keep counter-offering and dragging it out?

If it doesn't look like it's gonna happen, they better move the eff on and interview some other "home run" hires.

Bill Cowher's name always pops up on our unrealistic HC lists. Since we're clearly shooting for the moon why not give him a call. Dood has a better history than Gru.
Otherwise, Golden is staying, Strong prolly goes to the Barn, and looks like Butch Jones to Purdue. Who's left? Jimbo, Patterson, Fulmer?

It'll be okay. I trust the UTAD to make a big splash hire.

Gruden may not have been right for a college coaching gig, anyway.

Yes.

So easy to get caught up in the hype of Gruden. I just hope we get a good, proven coach. I have to stay out of the Gruden thread. Makes me feel like I need medication.

The only thing that Gruden hire guaranteed was to get us on the news for something other than losing. That's something the whole program needs right now. I think we can still do it, but I just dont see any obvious choices.
Maybe we should just promote Sal. At least then he wouldn't be coaching the D.

That's kinda where I'm at. I was always kinda weirded out when I thought about him coaching college.

wonder how the OG's will twist this thing.

It's obviously 100% accurate that Gruden hasn't been, and still isnt currently, a done deal, yet they have been claiming it's been done.

Poo pooing anyone that said different. Whatever. They went after ecred with the biggest story in UT coaching history, linked up on email and texts, and people with no knowledge of anything started sharing info. Hell, one guy has now heard 42 conversations about Gruden in his office, yet started telling another guy today that he is fos.

Loony freaking tunes.
