Excuse, after excuse, after excuse. None of them have stuck, yet every day, national/local media comes up with some new sticking point that Gruden is no longer in play, well after they spend a large portion of time saying he'd never be in play in the first place.

All the while, every leak that is reported lines up with what the OGs have said all along. Gruden and Hart (who aren't morons) haven't shot this down. The most "credible" voice to say anything on the matter Rick Venturi, who just so happens to be friends with Gruden, says that Gruden to UT is a very real possibility.

Tonight, the eve of the often quoted 11/30 date where every OG said things would look bleak so that Hart could appear to save the day, suddenly becomes bleak, with nothing of credible value sticking. We have multiple people shooting the rumors down, but none of them can confirm anything from Gruden, and the majority of them have shoddy at best track records. Again, Hart has nothing to say, and all evidence can't pry out a single interview/visit with any of the other people supposedly on our list.

The money, the Cindy angle, the Haslam/Peyton scenario - this has all been spelled out for us up to this point, damn near to a T. Why are so many suddenly claiming that the sky is falling when this exact scenario is exactly what so many folks have told us would happen from the getgo. It may not be tomorrow, and it may not be the weekend, but until Gruden himself directly shoots it down (when he's had ample time/opportunities to) or Hart says we've moved on, why in the world do so many people think this thing is dead?

Rucker is a tool.. That may be an insult to tools. I can't imagine anyone actually liking him or wanting to be in his company. Its really quite sad how miserable a person he must be.

Really ? The Original Folks have not changed their stance on any thing . The boosters are running this . Dave hart has tooooo0 much control . Cheek needs to be fired . BLAH BLAH . So which is it GRUDEN is In control or Dave Hart has too much control or CHEEK is to blame . Been watching from Gruden 1 . Its always been some dodgy BS .

It seems to me that all of the conflicting info out there shows us what is really going on. The AD has been on lock down and HAS NOT LEAKED ANYTHING. There's a set up for a press conference that hasn't even been announced for a coaching search that has no official contacted candidates. One side says Gruden 100%, the other, no deal, 100%.

The million dollar question is, how can both sides be so confident? It's because both have excellent sources. But, one sides sources are wrong, and I think it is the "no deal" sources. If Gruden was really off the table, then every one would be saying that. There would be nothing anywhere still giving the deal a chance. Those who say the deal is dead HAVE TO be getting false info from the AD to make a big splash when Gruden is hired.

It's still sketchy as best, but it makes a lot more sense than boosters still saying Gruden is a sure thing.

According to a poster named Georgia Knight on TOS, Hart interviewed Golden today. This guy has been dead on and has been leaking information before Hubbs can mention it- only for Brent to say he has heard it.

Welcome i just started tonight too here. Trying to keep from getting flamed and the posts are coming so fast my head is spinning but I love the back and forth.

Don't see Strong taking that POS job right now. Think he is our 2nd option and a damn good one it is.

Maybe Gruden will go ahead and take an NFL coaching job-UT hires another coach and never mentions Gruden. That give both an out. I am for Gruden, but it may not happen and both parties need a way to not turn each other down.

Just heard Gruden is ours if we name the university after him, with helmet logos to be changed to UG. Did you see the latest from the cliff notes--he wants control of scheduling. Doesn't the conference do the schedules? Message to Hart and boosters: Do not freakin' grovel. Here's what I say: If we can't get gruden, patterson or fisher, hire Chavis. Seriously. Hire Chavis--he's a damn good coach, tough-minded and all Tennessee. Yea, yea, I know all the negatives, but who the hell thought that Fulmer--basically an offensive line coach, and not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, would have the success that he had?

I still believe this is going down!!!! This is just a smokescreen to try and cover things up. TN Grudeneers!!!!!! Can't believe you guys are letting Mark May get you down.. he loses in an arguement to a guy with a speech impediment.....
