This needs to end soon, one way or the other. I haven't been able to get any work done for the last couple of weeks hardly. I've even had two or three dreams of Gruden being announced our head coach. This needs to end! My fiancee thinks I'm going mad, and I am...or am I?

My understanding of latest news from AU about coaching search from very good sources -

AU has retained a search firm. A representative calls a coach's agent and expresses interest in meeting with his client. A decision then has to be made by the coach and his client if they will talk in an official capacity(term "offical capacity" has meaning in coaching search and appears to be an official interview). Talking and interviewing are two different things. Established head coaches generally won't interview unless they know they're getting the job.

AU will talk to the following in an official capacity: Bobby Petrino, Kirby Smart, Gus Malzahn, Gary Patterson, Al Golden.

AU put our feelers to Mora, Jr. and Sumlin (expecting a polite decline), but they were not rebuffed. These could procede to a talk in an official capacity.
