I'm still on the gruden train until someone else takes the podium and is crowned head coach.

Gruden still hasn't said NO.

Well, if you are a realist, Hart wouldn't visit Golden if it was a done deal. The smokescreen excuse is ridiculous.

Questions are:
-is he going to see Golden?,
-and is Gruden still considering. There has been little doubt that he has been considering. There has just been doubt about his accepting and/or supposedly already signing to make it a done deal.

We shall see. I do know this. If we hire Golden, the 18 million from academics aint happnin

hmmmm. They know it won't get paid back.

Why would the AD go through so much to smoke screen an announcement that supposed to be 48 hours away?

The only way there is a smokescreen is if Gruden is waiting on a final Bucs payment and he cannot have another coaching job until after he gets paid. Then, there would be a reason to make it look like he wasn't even interested in the job. That would be the only plausible reason I can think of.

I'd be embarassed to wear orange in Atlanta if we hired Petrino for the next 3 years. Pass please!

I live in arkansas. I'd take him. A good def coord and we would compete.

I see no other coach out there that can win first year. He won 8 first year at arky and 11 the next.

I wish Dooley hadn't ruined up and coming college assistants for me forever.

Otherwise I'd be excited to get a young coordinator as head coach.

Now it's blah re-treads and middling underperforming current head coaches

I am getting that feeling like my hand is slipping off the handle of the steps on the Gruden train. I am falling off unfortunately. I hope I am wrong. DAM!@@$@^#*#(@*!^&!*@(@#)#&(@#^*@&*(@*()#*)#&*(@*()@*()

There are only 2 ways I am giving up on Gruden:

1) Tennessee says absolutely no Gruden

2) Tennessee hires someone else

There is nothing Gruden can say that will discourage me. The most comparable hiring to 'Gruden to Tennessee' is 'Nick Saban to Alabama'... and we all know that story...

I wonder what Ohio State fans felt like when Urban Meyer said he wasnt coming to Ohio State.

I wonder what Bama fans felt like when Nick swore up and down he wasnt going there.

I wonder what those same fans felt like the day those coaches were announced at their schools.

The problem is the audience. Both Saban and Meyer told the media they weren't interested.

If what is being said is true, Gruden told UT he isn't interested...

HUGE difference.

so if i disagree i'm just suppossed to shut up and not voice my opinion? what is the point of a discussion thread then? i have just as much right to post as all the grudenites do, but the ones of us who don't agree with the majority get flamed? Dumb.

You're right. It is over. You can leave now.

No. I started the Butch Davis thread and don't agree with that.

I mean i know hes had some shakey **** go down. But his resume speaks for itself and he will get us the players we need to compete again. Guys we dont have the players to win in this league. Thats our issue. We need a recruiter and we need a great one. Butch is that guy. Our players are jokes bro you see the vandy score?

How much are payments per month?
3-400k? That's a drop in the bucket to what he would make here
