Exactly. All this if we get Golden we're doomed talk is nonsense. He is a good coach & would do very well here. People see his overall record & that he doesn't have a top 10 recruiting class at Miami & think he's horrible. With all the stuff going on at Miami & the sanctions that are about to level that program I'm surprised he's doing ad well as he is. If we don't get Gruden I'd be happy with Golden.

exactly. He lets slip info that will generate buzz and steer the traffic AWAY from Jon Gruden. You ask Gruden if he's going to TN, if not, you don't ask Gruden. Steer toward another shami-date (Al Golden)...

This is awesome, in a way.

Of course last week when it looked like things were about to explode the very next day it was put down with negative local media reporting. Now today again.

Remember the scene in Trading Places where there is a fury of information and then right when the market closes everything stops. Then there's an announcement and everything goes crazy again. That's what this whole thread feels like. Only thing left to be determined is who walks out of this with a smile on their face and who gets rolled out on a stretcher completely broke.

Really does look like a deflection in wake of this mornings interview with Gruden and news out of Memphis. Hyams has had jack$hit and all of a sudden today he has news that a meeting was cancelled....what???

timeline:

rumor breaks in Memphis bordering on very unlikely but linking Gruden

Rumor is 1st time Gruden has spoken directly on UT connection and it's easily brushed off, but he doesn't brush off contact

Hyams reports meeting cancelled out of clear blue

Reports Golden contacted

draw what you want from that but it sets up nicely for smokescreen
