At this point, fans would be better if they started looking towards other candidates. If it were going to be Gruden, things would have leaked by this point.

Also, if Hart has not started interviews yet, then that tells me that he's confident he can get one of his top choices. You don't have this type of a relaxed approach otherwise.

This makes me wonder if the rumors of him doing nothing so far are actually true. That this was his first step. That can't be true can it? I understand waiting for teams to finish, but Gruden should of been interviewed weeks ago.

Nothing had been leaked before this news came out. Hart is not going to directly address the fans until a hire is made. Maybe this is how he decided to break some bad news?

Why was it not leaked before that there was a meeting? Now it's just being reported by that is has been cancelled. If we didn't hear there was a meeting before because the AD was locked down....why would we hear about this...JMO

I think Hart thinks that Tn fans will accept any coach that will come . After all they took Dooley in. If he brings in A Golden , Smart or Dykes then I am done. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. Hart has to go big or get the he11 out of Knoxville.

Guys, don't blow it out of context. He could have canceled for several reasons that we aren't considering.

The one thing we do know is that the public is aware that there are officially talks between UT and Gruden. Hyams can finally quit shooting it down. Don't let this small piece of the puzzle knock you down.

Also, media is catching on now. Maybe Gruden is wanting to slow things down seeing he still currently has a job. It's obvious that ESPN doesn't know. I'm concluding to the concept that he is wanting to finalize the deal when he knows no media will be on his tail.
