HHB jr (who's pic is at the top right of UT's commercial) said to expect an announcement friday at 4 central-Gruden. That is all I can say right now

Why would Dave Hart or CJG let the rumor mill keep perpetuating itself? I know they did't start the rumors but just throw us a crumb!!! I'm starvin over here!!!!!

The way Hart is handling this leads me to believe that he has his coach. Based on the info that's been confirmed, it logically appears to be Gruden or Fisher. Just wondering if anyone else had this thought. SN: I believe it's Gruden, but considering all of the circumstances, Fisher wouldn't be a complete shock to me.

1. Jon Gruden is a PRO football coach. Period. I feel good about our chances at this time of landing him unless something changes, but even IF we do he will eventually leave us to go back and coach men.

2. Gruden is well known for his intense coaching style which has even scared the crap out of grown men. I can't imagine how 18-19 year old kids will take one or more of his blow ups...

3. IF he doesn't come it is in no way anyone's fault but Gruden's... He's known our position and had an offer to accept before anyone else, so IF someone else (Jimbo Fisher) were hired instead let's get excited b/c that man (and several others who are interested in the job) are great coaches and can lead us where we need to go.

4. We've put the all out press on Gruden and there's not much more we can do at this point... We've had former greats (Majors, Fulmer, Manning) reach out to him, we've thrown a record contract offer at him, we've layed out the red carpet about as thick as it can possibly be layed out, but we still have a program to think about and cannot wait on this man forever.

5. We will know one way or the other by Sunday if I had to guess right now. I hope we get Gruden, but if we don't and it's a Fisher or someone else I can live with that all day.

IMHO, perhaps the most rational post on the current state of the coaching search to date. Kudos! :thumbsup:

Not a complete shock to me either but a HUGE disappointment.

Thanks, MB. Has anyone speculated on why both of Fisher's coordinators have left? If it's likely he stays, it seems fishy both of his coordinators have left. Especially the OC going to Kentucky. I may very well be missing something here though. Just trying to wrap my head around it all while we kill time waiting to hear something definitive.

Is it just me or does it feel like the Jon Gruden hype is killing to excitement of even getting him. I mean don't get me wrong I want him here but I want to be open minded about the new coach and not try to set him on a pedastal next to Gruden. Hire a proven winner here and i'll stand behind you Hart, but please tell the fans something give us your plan, something, anything...

No problem. No idea. Isn't the Auburn job open? who knows. I'm just relaying info I read on here.

They just took head coaching jobs, nothing more, nothing less.
