Not an insider and never claimed to be. I have posted about my uncle and some of the connections he has but I am a pastor and one of the members of our church who runs a large non profit organization sent me a fb message today just stating that he knows the Gruden deal is done and will be announced soon. He does have wealthier people that give to his ministry as part of tax donations of course and he just recently met Shaq here in town and sent me the picture as Shaq got his business card to possibly donate as well. Shaq has nothing to do with the coaching search...haha. It's just I know he could possibly know something. One of those guys who seems to bump into rich people everywhere...lol. Just sharing the info

ok. metro north or a car gets you to bristol from NYC in about 1.5 hrs. Still reason enough for Hart to fly to NYC. Also isnt next Mondays game in DC? might make sense to meet with the ESPN brass, then do final MNF game? who knows.

God this sounds aweful, but I work with a guy who has been a but UT supporter for 20 years. I asked him this morning if he has heard anything about Gruden. He said that he was told that Hart already "has his man". He was also given the impression that "his man" was Butch Jones. Take it for what it's worth. We'll find out soon enough. I hope this is wrong.

I doubt we get Gruden, but we need to do better than Jones.

I would be surprised if they weren't passed the info from someone with some type of pull who has something to gain. Either a slow leak to build anticipation from UT's side or grudens's side trying to get other to raise their bid. Doubt they would risk just running that from an internet rumor.

Yeah, maybe the other guys are right, Sexton is the source, which makes sense... but seriously, it had to be something concrete to report a deal that bizarre, they are a news station with reputation at risk.

IDK, but to me there is way too much smoke to not be a fire...If the whole Gruden thing is a joke or smokescreen, I say we put the AD in the White house, because TN can cause better misdirection than the Obama administration....Just seems like there is too much talk about him and TN is not denieing it at all...if we end up with anyone other than gruden now, I dont think the fan base will be happy lol

So Hubbs said that there are rumors out there, portions of which may be true and other parts that are false. Who is his source for this critical information?

Typical Hubbs talking without saying anything. He will not report anything until the athletic department has OK'd the info for release. I can't remember any story Hubbs has "broke".

Good new is if he says the chances for a deal "looks good" you can almost take it to the bank that it is done and an official announcement will be coming shortly.

I cannot get into the details at this time, so people asking me will be disappointed and possibly even angered... I'm only sharing this so that this place doesn't have a complete meltdown today after last night. I have yet to comment on anything Gruden, but I am choosing to break my silence and say that it is no coincidence that last night's story broke in Memphis...

I cannot get into the details yet due to work conflicts, but if you connect the dots and think about the situation you should be able to begin to figure it out.

Hint: A certain super coaching agent may or may not live and work in Memphis...

Hint: This super coaching agent may or may not represent other candidates not named John Gruden who are interested in the Tennessee job...

Hint: This super agent may or may not have leaked this story to the same news station the Lane Kiffin news broke on hoping it would put pressure on Hart and Gruden to make this decision one way or the other sooner and more public than previously anticipated.


I will not get into details on anything further, but I will say we still have a good chance as of this am at 8 am cst of landing John Gruden to be our head football coach next season. If something changes I will let you know... You can either make fun that I found it humorous to put Bucksnort as my hometown or believe what I'm saying it makes no difference to me, just sharing a little snippet of what I'm allowed to say at this time.

I wonder if the report from Memphis was an attempt to sabotage any kind of deal that might be going on? Memphis doesn't particularly care for UT. If they put something out there while everyone else involved is trying to keep a lid on it, they may have thought it could run Gruden off because of this info getting out before he was ready for it to be public. Just an idea.

If what FredWhite2 has posted is true, my idea was very close to being right. I just didn't think that it could be another coach's agent being the potential saboteur. Makes a lot of sense to me now, though.
