Official Jon Gruden Thread XII

From reading the transcript, it would appear to me that there is a great chance Gruden is going to be the coach. There was no denial there at all. He skirted the question entirely and was the perfect time to lay any grumours to rest.

You have to listen to the interview. He was pissed at the question. He was in a hurry to get to another topic. The tone of his voice told me alot.

It was a weak line of questioning-as if their producer was telling them not to press the issue. The report came out, and was even linked to on PFT, so to be taken seriously at all as "journalists" they had to ask something, and they did it in the weakest way possible, let him off the hook, and asked nothing else.

It's also possible they consider the possibility of him leaving MNF for us so ridiculous they barely wanted to talk about it. However, Gruden seemed to be the one to move the topic imo.

At this point, any leak to any outlet is calculated. All the participants will control the information flow for as long as they are able. So no. I don't agree. Especially based on what I was told yesterday afternoon.

And thats a lead in...so spill it homy...SIAP...:)

Spill it.

Edit: crap late again.

Tennessee's non-response is as close to a declaration of Gruden as we could get - it's even better than the denial on M&M.

Once again, this Gruden train is running downhill, picking up momentum, and bringing more fans on board with every passing minute.

Gruden has NEVER been this popular on the search engines per google trends.

If Tennessee doesn't have a good case with Gruden, we made a really poor hire with Hart. Not because he couldn't get Gruden, but because he's already doomed the next coach.

Agreed, nothing has made me more confident in what I've read and heard than this opportunity passed on by the University to close the Gruden book.

It is very close to being done/announced at this point IMO.

There was 100% a denial. In fact, 2 denials. They just weren't authentic.

This is all true.

Exactly. That was quite a ways from the type of Saban/Meyer denial. From what I have read about him in the past (Oakland Tampa deal), Gruden might not even know hardley any of the details until Lamonte puts the final contract in front of him. He seems to like it that way. Right now he is employed by ESPN and he is doing work for MNF.

Sounds like you moved your timeline up, Eric. Appreciate the info you bring.
