People, Of course he is not going to say he is taking the job on Mike and Mike. if you heard the conversation, he wanted to get off the topic as fast as possible.

No coach will say he is joining a team until at the presser.

I'm afraid what my source said was true, he told me he was 95% sure Jimbo Fisher was going to be our next coach and that the Gruden thing fell through due to him wanting 10 years and we would only offer 5. This is coming from someone in "the know" as far as Jimbo goes (rhymes with Timmy Hexton).

OG's make us feel better! Thank you for all the info you all have posted! I have enjoyed reading all your alls posts! Lets hope we hear something good today (about Gruden) and if not today soon...

Well oldvol lives right next to jimbos father in law and said def not coming here so I will go with him

everyone is reading too much into this Gruden denial thing for several reasons:
1. Has any coach (ever) answered that question directly if they were currently employed
2. If you were interviewing for a job that hadn't completely been finalized would you tell your current employer you were looking into other jobs?
3. There is a list longer than my arm that has coaches saying similar things and in the next few days being named the coach.
4. He never denied he was going to be the coach, only denied the Browns thing and having an offer in his hand...

Hart wants all of the credit for hiring Gruden. That's the reason he wants everyone to get out of his way and not get involved.

He knows his job depends on this hire and he can't afford to screw up.

Bookmark the Gruden XII Thread fellas. This was a major turning point in the Gruden Saga. After listening to the interview on Mike and Mike I am as confident as I have ever been regarding what my source told me the day we let Dooley go. Start buying your visors fellas.

Because he does not have to deal with the contract stuff. That is why he has an agent.

He probably called Lamonte right after the interview...dude really, part ownership in the Browns?!/!!/? thats why I pay you the big bucks.

You don't think Hart knows all the rumors and hype going on with Gruden coming to UT? Like i said, if Gruden isn't coming and he knows it, why in the hell would he not make a statement about it instead of letting the fanbase get high hopes/expectations for weeks only be disappointed... like always.

Too busy this morning but could someone post the dates Saban and Meyer denied talking to Bama and Ohio State respectively with the dates they were announced?

I think both were less than 48 hours, Meyer was the next day iirc. Both were far more a "denial" than Jon nervously wanting to move on and not talk about it.

"Any of this" could be talking about the whole Browns ownership part. I like the fact he wanted to get off the subject as quickly as possible. He had the perfect opportunity to kill the rumors and he didn't.
