Will the damn break before Friday?

No but it will damn well be leaking from top to bottom. I expect media to increase their coverage to a crescendo Thursday.

Only a couple days guys, may be the two most intense days yet. As the media starts to build up to the announcement expect a complete insurgency from people saying all sorts of things.

I am confident whatever it was has been resolved and am solidly back to 99% sure this will happen.

It's like playing poker, every hand tells a story. From pre-flop to the river either you are telling a story or being told one. The ONLY story here that makes sense has Gruden at the end of it.

Never claimed to have inside sources and I have held off completely but I firmly believe this will happen. I am on the phone now having a discussion from somone in the know. I am about to leave the office for the day but I will leave with this... it is done and will be announced Friday. The media is apart of this in specific circles and have been asked to spin it is at best and will not part take in the vent afterwards if leaked, they will be ruined at TN if so. This explained a lot of Hubbs wish-washyness. My contact has very reliable sources and has mirrored everything Boro has been stating.

You are about to witness the biggest hire in NCA history and the best marketing ploy by our beloved university. I truly believe this individual and rarely have need to talk to him back home untl recently. It is done!

If UT collectively have been able to get specific media to partner with them and "spin" this it will go down in history. Wow!! :clapping:

The threat of being cut off and ruined is obviously strong as the media understands how important it is to their bottom lines. :good!:

Interesting...just curious though what he has gotten right before it happened?

He has been the first guy to reveal problems within the team that come out later to be true. He was first to say Cam Clear was stealing and local media poo pooed it for some time. He also was the first I heard that Rogers was a real problem in the locker room.

Serious question for the OG's, is there a "drop dead" date when you would start to reconsider Jon Gruden being locked up or will you be sold on Gruden until another coach is hired or you catch wind of another candidate?

Now Monday for me. If no news comes out by Monday either way I will assume it is over barring new credible information.

OK, so who is your list of best recruiters? I know after this season it is hard not to want the best on-the-field coaching, but truly recruiting does come first.

If we are talking about coaches that have been mentioned as possible candidates.

Gruden. (#1 choice for hire) I'll give you the fact he hasn't had to recruit at the college level, but name recognition alone has players lining up at the door. Coaching was successful at the pro level, unknown if it would translate in college.

Strong. But that doesn't mean I want him coaching here. I'm not 100% on his coaching yet. The two bad losses to end the year put a bad taste in my mouth. Love his Def mindset though.

Stoops. And coaches well. My #2 pick for the hire. Probably won't happen though.

Butch Davis. But does he do it ethically and within compliance?

Franklin. He's just a damn good recruiter. Not sure I like his coaching style though for the UofT.

Tressel. Not gonna happen, too much NCAA baggage.

Golden. I feel he is a better on-the-field coach than recruiter. He did ok at Temple, Miami he was hampered due to the NCAA probs.

I'm not saying Golden would be bad in the long or mid-term and not 100% against his hire, but a boom hire is needed. He's just not a boom and would be a settle hire IMO.

Patterson is my #3 choice by the way, he has to recruit Texas and gets alot of the cast offs from Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, etc. But he coaches them up extremely well, much like Golden.

Some UT dude I follow on twitter is saying that Petrino has been calling us nonstop for the job and we told him to quit calling

Funny if true
