Does not make alot of sense for a guy to say he is not interested in a job, if it was not offered to him. Has it been proven as fact Gruden was offered the UT job?Why would he say on MNF I am happy where I am and will be here for a long time if he is considering coaching somewhere? Stoops, Fisher, and Golden could have said they were not interested(if they actually have) because they were interviewed or asked if they wanted the job. Several interviews do have to be conducted before a hire is made in most cases. Has a minority coach declined his interest in the job yet? That would be something to look for as well. Alot of unknowns right now.

Has Strong officially declined interest in the UT job? I know he said he is happy and that the AD will counter anything to keep him. If so, there is your minority candidate. Trust me, he will tell you vehemently he is a minority. Remember, that is why he was passed for HC positions in the past.

I'd rather have the HFC at Fayetteville HS (throwing that one out cause I lived there as a kid) coaching the Vols than Jon Gruden. However, keep on keeping on, lemmings....IF Gruden is hired (which is looking far less likely as the days go by, or so I keep praying to every deity that's ever been recognized), he WILL change your tune, ladies and gentlemen......and I'll be sitting in the corner laughing at all of you.

Gundy is not leaving OK St. He played there, got his start in coaching there and as a contract thru 2019. Not to mention the university puts $600,000 a year in a retirement fund for him.

The only way I don't bail on Hart is if multiple sources say that and NFL team outbid us.

Otherwise, there is no reason that we should miss on this.

They must make Gruden say no. There are way to many openings and we will end up overpaying for a crap coach and be no better off than we were.

There really is no viable alternative now that Stoops has withdrawn his name from the hat.

He was talking about what would happen if Gruden came here and sucked.

In college football, I think it would be harder for Gruden to lay an egg, simply because of the recruits he would draw. He CAN coach, too. Two plusses for him. Just pay him the money.
